I just watched the below video. I was impressed, so much so that I believe there should be legislation enacted that requires all law enforcement firearms to be equipped with these cameras should they be found to be reliable after testing, and be found not to interfere with the function of the weapon, by an independent neutral party.

Talk about doing everything right when the shit hits the fan.

    Engage
    Create distance and movement.
    Stay in the fight.

    Out phucking standing.

The only hiccup was the mag change. I dont think he hit the mag release but displayed a perfect mag retrieval and perfect form at eye level. Can't blame him for that little issue as he was shot and fighting for his life and then overcame it.

Yes, every officer should have body cameras and gun cameras. I firmly believe it will serve to protect the vast majority of the officers from the bullshit response to their actions and the public from the 1 or 2 actual bad officers. It also uniquely puts you in their shoes.

One thing to mention, how is this camera mounted? If it goes in place of my x300, I’m going to fight like hell and try to not have to have one of them on my gun. Yes the footage is bad ass and a technological advancement but does it impede on the function of the weapon? Now if they could make an HD camera that sits in the end of the guide rod, I’d be all for it. Rail mounts don’t seem to be the answer, but we are close

Also a lesson to those who think that in these situations they can count on perfect shot placement.

It is rail mounted and a 500 lumen light is part of the set-up. One is also available with a laser sight.

They say it comes on automatically when the gun is drawn from the holster, I would hope that means only the camera and not necessarily the light or the laser.

Our holsters are outfitted with a sensor that communicate with our body cameras. Gun comes out of holster and automatically turns ALL body cameras on even if not on scene. Similar to that I guess

I was going to clown on the cop for trying to load a mag without dropping the spent mag. But apparently he'd just been shot. So props to him for just being able to get up and keep up fire.

Interesting if this is the case.

    I agree with....

I wonder what genius came up with that.

Officers assigned to the call or responding to the call I get but officers in the can at the station, hopefully, crapping?

Which is why the officer I was with told me to always place the camera face down when using the bathroom. And also to make sure if you’re camera goes home with you, when you take your vest off you out it in a closet or facing a wall and not in view of your bedroom/bed

Is anyone thinking of cost/benefit? All these gadgets and gizmo's are neat - but unless they physically better protect our officers, I think the taxpayer needs a break.

They will protect the officer from criminal and civil complaints, and will save the department a lot of money that would have otherwise been lost due to lawsuits.

    They're worth it.
