PTR barrel finish issue

So a friend of mine bought a PTR .308 Pistol...the gun externally and internally looks almost brand new but when he took the handguard off he found an issue. The finish on the barrel...part of the barrel...is bubbled up and flaking off. The gun was sold as having only had a few mags through it while the owner was making a video reviewing it.

I assume this isn't normal...is it some type of cover-up?

kind of what I figured. He said the barrel looks great so there is no concern about that

He has been going back and forth which direction he is going to go...but has started the Form 1 process...

No, but the fact the G3K is a registered receiver should.

I bought the SP89 right after getting married, thinking someday I'd buy a registered sear. Yesterday was the wife & my 33rd anniversary. I'll admit the gun looks much better then either of us!
