I was loading some 10mm last night and I had 3 cases that were sized for small pistol primers. I knew that some manufacturers use the small primers for .45acp, but I hadn’t heard that about the 10mm.

I haven’t encountered that yet, but I’ll be on the lookout now.

    What brand was the brass?

Interesting, don't think I've seen those before. I hate those damn SPP .45 cases guess I'll need to be worrying about them in 10mm as well.

The usual suspect, Federal. On .45 it’s always been Federal or Blazer. I read the NT stands for “Non-toxic”, which they made for use on indoor ranges.

I haven’t bought any “non-toxic” ammo so I shouldn’t have that issue. Haven’t bought any Federal 10 mm either since they were 50 FPS slower than 40 S&W.

I bought some brass from Capital Cartridge. That’s where I found them.

They are like that because they do not make a lead free large pistol primer (that I'm aware of) and dont source from other brands. The entire line of NT rounds uses the small small lead free primer and they also crimp them super hard which REALLY sucks.
