Received and email today that there will be a Murphy's Gun & Knife Show in Texarkana, AR this weekend June 6 & 7, 2020 at:

    Holiday Inn Convention Center
    5200 Convention Plaza Drive
    Texarkana, AR 71854

Nice to see they are being held again. I am considering getting a table for private sales of some guns in my collection. That all depends on if my son can make it here to help man the table; I do not want to try that by myself.

Saw a deal where the city of Marfa was trying to back out on a gun show being there and the promoter was threatening legal action.
I swear Marfa and Alpine are full of liberals now.

    That place east of Waco....
I was excited that Waxahachie was still doing their gun show on the 13-14.....until I just saw it was canceled.

I'm assuming it was due to the Karena-virus.....because looters hitting a gun show would be ill-advised.

Any military firearms type collectible gun shows out there? Seems most shows around here are more AR focused.
There was a pretty good of older military type weapons at the Murphy's Texarkana show. Of course, modern military stuff outweighs the old like at most shows. Murphy's though seems to attract a decent amount of dealers with older milsurp guns for sale. Their next show, I think, is in Benton Ar on the 27th and 28th of this month.

I know for a fact there was a really nice Mosin Nagant 91/30 (Ishvesk manufacture) with turned down bolt, matching numbers (except for factory renumbered magazine floorplate), that sold for only $250.00 at the show in Texarkana.

It may not be cheap but Jackson Armory had a great collection. They had, for example, Lugers on a velvet tray similar to expensive rings at a jewelers. And they are a Class III dealer so they have quite a range of products.

I attended the show at the Will rogers Center in Ft. Worth last weekend, great turnout and lot of vendors. However, IMHO, the prices were asinine! I ain't buying nuthin from nobody till this pamic ends and prices revert to almost reasonable.

As a MilSurp collector, I occasionally find some interesting items at gun shows but the vast majority of finds and deals are online. If you don't have a C&R (03 FFL) already then I would strongly recommend getting one. It's cheap ($30 for three years) and will allow you to have eligible firearms shipped straight to you!

Now is the time to get rid of stuff purchased at asinine prices during the last panic (2012-2013). Anyone want a Polytech (Norinco M-1A) for a national match build?

Went to a gun show in Conroe last week. Fewer tables than normal, but a very decent crowd. LOTS of people buying handguns - esp. cheap ones. And, of course, the same 8 tables with the same triple-priced "antique" guns that must make a 100 shows before someone buys one.

With the exception maybe some of the larger venues, gun shows have gone to crap. Last few I attended, there was more other crap than guns! And quite a bit, that had nothing to do with guns, shooting, reloading or even hunting.

I agree as I'm tired of wading through a sea of trinkets, knick-knacks and what-nots just to find retail stores.

Went from attending 1 or 2 shows a month to years between shows.

I did go to the gun show in Waxahachie before pandemic and was pleasantly surprised at the ratio of firearm related and non and the number of firearm retailers and private sellers. Prices were reasonable at the privateers tables and folks were friendly.

I took a couple pistols looking to sell or trade and no one seemed interested as inventory was very high.
