Been thinking about adding another vehicle for a spare. There is a low mileage 2018 KIA Soul Plus here locally that I've looked at. I haven't driven it yet. From searching online, they seem to be pretty decent vehicles these days. It still has about 40% of the 5 year/60K factory warranty and 70% of the 10 year/100K drivetrain warranty left.

Does anyone here have any first hand experience with one of these? Is there anything in particular that I need to be on the lookout for?

We had one of it's cousins, the Hyundai Santa Fe in 2010. It was a very good vehicle -until we got rear-ended by a pickup

Check carefully on the 10/100 warranty. It is for original owner only unless Kia Dealer has a special contract. Read it carefully !
I've got a 2019 Kia Sorento, best of the 30+ cars I've bought.

I've got a 2019 Stinger that I enjoy very much. Kia's commitment to quality has really shown in the last 5 years or so.
I don't see any issue with buying a well-maintained used Kia, especially one that's just a couple of years old. The biggest ownership downside, in my experience, is dealing with the dealerships themselves. Their maintenance departments can be hit or miss, but reviews are easy to find on them in owner's forums.

I considered looking at a Stinger GT2 before I settled on this Dodge Charger Scat Pack. They were giving 'em away so money talked to me first.

I needed something I could sit in for 2 - 3 hours / day for my commute, the Dodge wasn't going to cut it, but it was looked at. The final selling point on my GT2 was a combination of factory incentive, dealer discount, and 0% interest.

You are correct, the 100K drops to 60K to next owner. I wasn't going through a KIA dealership.

Good Lord, not sure I'd be willing to put that much time in the car for a commute! We're actually looking at moving to cut down drive time for the wife, but it'll unfortunately add to mine (from ~15 mins to ~35 mins).

Had a Soul for a rental in Tucson a few years back. Actually, I was more impressed with it than I thought I'd be. Of all the Korean manufacturers, Kia seems to be the best. They are certainly popular in Europe!

Wanna move to Bridgeland? :) We're going to end up on the north side somewhere, probably Spring.
Not in the least. When I'm done here, I'll probably have a small apartment next to work and buy some land big enough to put a small racetrack and range on.
If you have or are planning to have school age kids, be careful which schools in Spring you end up in, they're varying shades of crap.

That's what we're finding. One kid homeschools due to sports, the other is going into 1st grade but will probably end up homeschooling too before too long.

I'm not looking forward to the $250/mo. on tolls, but it is what it is.

When dealing with high lvl of competition homeschooling is the best choice. Say your daughter is in gymnastics and going for nationals, being able to train during the day and do studies at night is a blessing.
