No shooting until further notice and wait for the panic to subside.

I'm looking at it from the opposite perspective.

With BLM racists trying to murder whites and committing hate crimes daily (with the blessing of Democrat politicians, the MSM and social media), rioters looking to bring anarchy into the suburbs, now is the absolute worst time to be lax in your training, and the absolute best time to be at your sharpest.

If someone has been really lax or had some really bad luck with the economy and is simply down to empty cabinets where their ammo supply should be, I guess you can at least dry fire every day, but otherwise, I think we should all be going to the range more often, not less (as well as dryfiring, of course).

There are still tons of drills that can be organized to maximize the improvement to our weak areas without putting 500 rounds down range in a single session. Low round-count sessions can yield surprising benefits, or at the very least prevent your skills from getting rusty at the worst possible time.

Dry firing is not a good substitute for actual rounds down range. If you have trigger control problems that's great you can practice, but as far as putting rounds on target ive not found it to be an adequate substitute. If you'd like to fund my continued range time by all means. I can't afford 50 cpr on 9mm and up to a dollar per on 5.56. I typically put 300 to 500 rounds down range per trip and I was going 12 to 20 times a year until March.

    1 you don't know me

2 you don't know my background

3 my weak areas are acknowledged by me and have been addressed for damn near a decade missing 4 months of range time is not going to exacerbate or improve those areas more than they already have been

Again, if you think I am so destitute that this is a gross misuse of my funds my paypal is Darkpriest667@hotmail.com feel free to donate. I'll sign a sworn affidavit stating I will only use the money for ammo, if i can find it.

I'm not going to drain my 1k of NATO reserves on each caliber because you think I should still be practicing for the snowflakes when they come.

If I still had my 10/22, AR15-A1, and old Marlin 336, I would sight them in tomorrow after installing some Optics that have been waiting and then pull my horns in after that. While I appreciate the idea of abbreviated range sessions and can always use the training, I too, will wait until the weirdness settles down a bit before I further expend my inventory. I will continue to purchase online. 100 days until the election. We'll see how strange things turn after that.

Buy now price was $900. Someone will buy it too. It is not madness if you have the money and want it. Fortunately last time I bought it was Fiocchi 115 gr 1000 round for under $200 delivered.

Same here. I think it was $180 or $185 including shipping.

I'm gonna keep shooting, but switch to .22 LR. I've got near 9K that I haven't touched in a long time. I'll need a new pistol tho that closely replicates my S&W carry gun(s).

By Providence or sheer blind luck I bought 4,000 rounds of Aguila .22lr about 2 weeks before the panic started. That was on top of several thousand rounds I already had, so I can plink .22 for a while without worrying.

OTOH, I put 100 rounds of 9mm FMJ through my new Sig P365 yesterday, and it almost felt wasteful.

Same here. A little ways back I bought 5k CCI SV and 5k GECO and 5k Aguilla when each was on sale. More than double the price now. After the last big dry spell I stocked up on all my ammo.

I have a .45 LC Ruger Vaquero and a matching Uberti 1873 Cattleman New Model, .22 LR, 4.75", Steel. They are nearly the same size and weight and I practice a lot more with the .22.

I just bought one of the new Glock 44's (.22) as they are similar to a Glock 19 which I carry.

Why would any self-respecting gun owner do business with CTD? Seriously.

It's being screwed pretty hard I think. CTD is asking 80¢ per round. I've seen prices at some of the larger online stores at around 50¢ per round in bulk, plus tax and shipping. TOSS, you know who you are.

Sorry my math was off I thought it was coming in at 46 cpr. ;-) yeah.. but it's CTD so what do you expect. Someone is paying it. I imagine these are retailer markups and the manufacturers aren't marking up prices.

CTD was fucking people over back in March and, as a result, singlehandedly generated most number of complaints to the AG’s office for price gouging. Over 120 reports in <3 days. Investigation continues.

When I lived in NY state, outside of NY City, they refused to ship ammo to me in Nassau County. When I asked why, they insisted, incorrectly mind you, that Nassau County was in NY City and they could not legally ship ammo to NYC. In doing so they added an additional county to NYC that was and remains outside of and not actually within the city. When they were called and emailed, by concerned potential customers, to explain that they got it incorrect, they allegedly were extremely nasty about it and vehemently stated that they were right and everyone else who said other than they did was wrong about what counties made up NY City. All of the folks I know who contacted them said they did so politely; yet, they in essence said Bud's Gun Shop personnel treated them like dirt; I can attest to that because that is how I feel they did likewise to me. They may be nice to folks elsewhere but were not so to residents of Nassau County for whatever screwball reason. That was their prerogative as is mine not to shop with them - ever. Their arrogant and extremely nasty attitude was more than enough to put them on my eternal shit list. They still list Nassau County as part of the forbidden zone for ammo shipments to New York (source).
Because NY prosecutors would never over reach their authority to just put an evil gun dealer out of business.

I know a lot of folks don't like companies charging more in a shortage, but I'd rather prices go up a bit to discourage hoarders/scalpers because it lets me buy a box or two if I need it. Can't believe it is that high now.

GT Distributors has Speer GD, Hornady Critical Duty, HST in stock most days. Price has stayed pretty much the same. Jus limited to 100 rounds of duty ammo and 200 rounds of training ammo per month.
I won’t make a special trip up there for it, but if I am in the neighborhood .......

Duty ammo is restricted to LE, Security and Military. They will ask you to prove it.
