I went with Rocky S2V full leather. Ive been looking for about 5 hours today, reviews, manufacturers website seeing what models are made in the USA, price, etc.

I went with the S2V's for 3 reasons... triple stitched leather, stitched soles & Made in the USA. The Danner Rivet TFX has stitched soles but are over $300. Non of the Bellevilles had stitched soles.

Good luck with them. They aren’t what they used to be, or maybe I just got a couple of bad pairs in a row from a bad batch. I had a problem with the heals.

I wear the 5.11 Speed Boot zip sides. All day, everyday, everywhere. Never had any problems. Comfortable and durable. The desert boots are cool in the summer. Pair I am wearing now had for over a year and still feel great.

Usually wait for a sale at LAPG.

I wear the same, except in black. I’m on my second pair in 10 years. The old pair are still used for dirty work and the new pair for daily use. Great boot, durable and more comfortable than of my other shoes.

Kind of like these, but a different color?

    How do you like those?
I heard there are issues with the way the tounge is sown in on some pairs.

    There’s a reason I still have them.

I’ll warn you it’s a wide footbed and ankle; which can lead to some folding and flexing in the shaft if you’ve got chicken legs like me. Since the tongue is sewn to the shaft, that can lead to some discomfort. Thicker boot socks can help alleviate that.

Caveat: my newest S2Vs were issued in 2013 or 2014, I think. None of the pairs have had QA issues.

5.11 Atlas mid length. They’re my duty boots. Comfortable all day. Debating on picking up the shorter tennis shoe type for summer

    Got the new boots today.
They are pretty comfy out of the box, i cant really complain. Im pretty impressed with quality of the full leather. I really like the stiched sole, thats been my biggest complaint with footwear that you end up blowing the sole off & shoegoo never holds for any amount of time... dont think ill have to worry with these.
And they were true to size... i wear a 9.5 & thats what i ordered...no issues.

Got a pair of tan Solomon Quest Forces 4D GTX boots a few months ago. They are awesome. Super comfortable, waterproof, leather...

I had a couple of pairs of Lowas that fell apart within a few weeks of moderate use. They disappointed me and me hesitant to buy anything until my Bellvilles wore out (that was a long wait....

    Very happy with my Solomon's.

All my tacticool boots have been black for work, however I must have a side zip and have tried multiple brands with limited complete satisfaction.

Started with bates and loved how light they were but they didn’t last but 6-8 months a pair. Went to original swat with same results along with other brands. Stuck with Belleville/Tactical Research for a while and recently picked up a second set of Danners.

I bought a pair of danner scorch, warm weather boots a while back, while I loved the footbed, the ankle “chute” lacked padding and caused those to go to the bottom of closet. After reading waaay to many reviews on their different offerings, I now have a pair of Danner Stalwarts.

So far so good. More break in than some boots but still comfortable during. I’m certain they will hold up longer, but will it justify the high price has yet to be seen.

Not exactly tactical but I have been wearing a pair of Brazos Jungle Boots for years now. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. No side zip. If I recall they only cost about 30 bux. I wear them for motorcycle riding and they are cool in the summer. Style BR6030. Can't find them anywhere now though I guess they are discontinued.

Im in the market for a tactical 8" boot with side zipper. Preferably in sand or coyote color. I know there are tons of options & prices. Ive looked at the Under Armors, S&W, Bates, Reebok, Danner, Merrel & some cheaper options. What are yall wearing that yall find comfortable & not falling apart after a 6 months?
I can tell you not to go with academies side zipper 60$ one or walmarts I've gone through both pairs in but 6 months I have yet to find something I can jog in a few times a week and have it not break down. Gonna partially hijack and ask in particular has anyone jogged in any boots that dont rip up?

Zippers as an integral part of footwear is just a bad idea.

Get some lace-in zipper closures so when the blow up you can replace them.
