Welcome. I got my first drivers license in IL. If you ever make it up to Wichita Falls and want to shoot I have everything and my own range. Just contact me.
Recommend you consider getting your license to carry and join the club.

Better take a week off work to get you license. The System really is that bad here. Even just to surrender your IL License for a TX license.

And bring originals of all documents with you, birth cert social security and proof of residence. What ever you forget is what you will need and will have wasted days waiting in line. Bring documents even if they are only mentioned briefly on the web site.

I wouldn’t even mind waiting in line all day at this point, but it seems as though it’s appointment only when I drive past. Booked my appointment for the earliest date...November lol.

I’ve always considered getting into hunting so that’s a possibility. Otherwise it would be more so just for self-defense at first until I can get a real feel for it.
