Why does this forum allow 'stalking'?

I looked and saw a tab that enables "FOLLOW".

What does FOLLOW do?

If I choose to FOLLOW, am I stalking?
If someone is FOLLOWING me, am I being stalked?

WTF is FOLLOW?

I thought it just let ya know any content that is posted by the person you are following. You can look and see who is following.
