Lot of experience in survival ever since Dad gave me the USAF Arctic Survival Course Manual when he took the course, then he came home and headed out to the North Pole...back in 1957. I learned over the years that I can go out with 3 days of water, food, gun n knife and live as long as needed.

Sure we have plenty on here who can do same same...BUT can they do this?

Its been raining 24x7 for a week, there is a group of us, tired, hungry, cold. We come across an indent (semi cave) on the side of a mountain, its dry, slightly elevated, has nice creek out in front. We all agree to make camp there and someone says I have coffee in an unopened can if only we could have a fire.

I say give me about 20 min I you can serve the coffee. Everyone laughs and asks WTH are you going to get any dry wood?

EZ I say, couple of you come with me, I am going down to the creek and I will find some tree limbs laying in the water in the creek and I will use them to start and create the fire.

20 min later I tell the guy put your pot on fire, it will boil in a few min and I get the first cup.

As I sit down with the cup o joe someone asks, how in the hell do you start a fire with water-soaked wood?

Anyhow I am coffee drinker and this may not apply to some of you...

Mainly woodworking and carpentry. I have some experience working with metal, I can even weld a bit, though it's not pretty. I am ok with leather as well.

I'm not much of a mechanic, but I can usually figure something out if I stare at it long enough. Small engines are not too bad, and older car/truck/tractor engines are simple enough that I could probably get them running.

I know a little about growing food, and a lot about catching it or hunting for it.

I also know some basic first aid.

I'm basically a jack of all trades.

I was 11D10-40 early 70s, but my resume is nowhere near as full as yours.

I’m a good bullet shield. After playing Call of Duty with my sons, I realize I’ll be the first to die. My body can protect other more valuable people though.
