Teaching new class of bike patrol ? The Town, err, Ladybird Lake route looks like the one I frequently see new bike officers getting trained at.
Yup around Town Lake. It's a good and fun week on the bike. Some have literally not ridden since they were kids. The first sit on saddle on day 2 is funny to watch.

View attachment 232006 Short, painful ride this morning. Anyone recommend good riding gloves. 40’s and my fingers while on the bike is not a combo I like.
Yeah, I am a sissy about my fingers getting cold.
I REALLY like Defeet knit gloves. The are warm and not bulky. They only glove warmer that I have used is an Exteondo fleece-gore wind stopper. Toasty.

Under 40, I just don't bother ridding anymore

I have a pair of thin North Face gloves. Very comfy and warm enough this morning at 45.

I downloaded the app but keep forgetting to activate it when I ride.

A bit over 82mi this week....

It's cool helping introduce people to a bicycle.

Lost an acquaintance last week. We had ridden together a number of times over the last decade.

Damn. Sorry to hear that. I have ridden in that same area. Drivers scare the hell out of me on the road. Complete lack of awareness while texting, talking on the phone, intoxication, etc.

One of the reasons I like riding in the wee hours of the morning.

Sorry to hear of the loss....I just couldn’t ride on public roads, what ignorance and distraction I see in a parking lot is enough to keep me off the roads.

Sounds like my front brake is dragging. Making a hell of a squeaking noise when the wheel is turning. I need 2 more miles to hit 1500. Might just see if I can get it this afternoon and drop bike off later this week for some work.
Oh, lots of drunks on Halloween in CS. And the bars......errr, restaurants get an extra hour to serve.

    sporty morning. Lol

These take some getting used to. Rode about a mile in them after about 10 minutes of clipping in and out while holding the side of my truck.
I can see where they will make a huge difference

SPD's rock. You will grow to love them. We have all fallen over without getting our feet out once or twice, but its worth it. The extra security is confidence inspiring.

Ordered a new set of pedals Friday and got them in today. Was hard to find platforms that take toe clips and reflectors (work requirement).

Used a bottom bracket from the company before and it was super smooth, and so are these! Forgot to add, these are going on a bike I havnt even purchased yet, will be out hitting north Texas LBS’s until I find what I’m wanting.
