I'm trying to find one with a mag capacity greater than 10 rounds. I see the Beretta 92-22 and am considering that one. But then I get to thinking if I'm going to do that why not go with the 92-FS and get a .22lr conversion kit. Well... money is one thing. That set up put would put me at around 1K for a .22 LR. Granted I'd also have a Beretta 9mm as well. So... short of going the Beretta route anybody know of .22 pistol, SA or DA, that gets close to the 15 round Beretta 92-22?

Academy near me shows one in stock for 199.00 +T is the kel-tec accurate? Durable? I'm putting around 5-600 rounds a week through the SR22 Ruger and some of its weak points are starting to show up.

The one I have suffers from multiple failure to load and failure to eject every time I go to the range. This is with both 40gr Federal target rounds and Aquila 38gr coated hollow points. There is a place on the right side of the slide that is making contact with part of trigger assy., I guess, and it's putting a wire edge on the bottom of the slide on the right side where it makes contact on every cycle. I still like it but getting tired of clearing multiple FTF, FTL, FTE.

I clean/lube after every trip to the range. It's a fixed barrel configuration so can only clean so well w/o disassembly. Because of the way it's built disassembly requires a full re-aim which I haven't wanted to do yet because it's pretty much spot on as it is.

The Glock 44 now has some aftermarket mags that hold 18 rounds by ProMag.

I just "borrowed" my son-in-law's 3 Glock 44 magazines so that gives me 5 when I go to the range already loaded. Doesn't take long to change out a magazine.

I bet there will be more increased capacity mags for the Glock 44 coming up in the future too. It's a great little gun and I like the size of it being the same as the Glock 19 which is my EDC gun.

@Dougw1515 what is your goal/mission for the .22? Is it an analog for one if your other guns so that you can get some cheap training on a similar frame/platform or something different?

I know you’re fixated on something with more than 10 rounds, but my question would be why?

I have an M&P9 fullsize and M&P22 fullsize. The .22 fits my holsters, is a 1:1 analog (except trigger pull), and both have the same sights. The only difference is capacity, but drills I run don’t require more than 2x 8 round mags, so any capacity beyond 8 is irrelevant.

Please take photos of slide and wire edge. If it was mine, I would be on the phone with Ruger. They have excellent customer service and their turnaround time on repairs is usually very fast. I know their plant in the north east is closed (or was) with the whole chinese flu, but I think that facility was only for wheel guns.

Of course! If you put your ear to the rail, you can hear when the train is coming!

mmmmmm... I'm just not a Glock guy... But thanks.

Right now I have 7 - 10 rnd mags for the SR22. They're full when I get to the range and I usually reload them 3-4 times. I would love for it to be analog to one of my other guns which consist of a P365, FNS-9C and a CZ75 SP-01 Phantom. I haven't found an analog .22 lr for anything I have in 9mm and one reason I am considering the Beretta 92FS + .22lr conversion.

Currently I use the SR22 for trigger control training, I do a lot of DA/SA drills as the decocker is easy to access and activate. I've started running some 15 yard drills with the SR22 as well where all of my 9mm practice is done at 7yds. Though every once in a while I'll pull out the CZ75 for some 15yd work. Mostly, with the SR22 I'm working on trigger control and quickly reacquiring target after firing. A magazine with greater than 10 rounds isn't a must have deal breaker I just thought as I was looking for something new I'd try to up the round count.

I'll post photos in the morning. Guess how much it'd cost to fix would be a deciding factor.

I'm content with 10 rounders so long as I have a mag loader. Probably why I own 2 Ruger mk IIIs and a buckmark. A ten round mag dump is satisfying enough. The prices have gone up and up over the years. I still remember my first buckmark camper, $199 academy special.

On the other hand, I keep an open eye out for a deal on a cz cadet conversion for my 75b in stainless. They are pretty proud of them but after shooting one, it may be worth the money.

As promised... Red straw in the slide photo points to where the wire edge is being created. Red straw in the frame photo shows what is causing that wire edge.

    Gunz are icky.
Just go get the Beretta M9-22.
    They're a solid performer.
You can even get threaded barrel versions if that is your thing.
You don't really have a lot of options in .22lr and over 10rd.
One way you can do it is with the GSG 1911-22.
    Standard factory mag is 10rd.
An aftermarket company sells replacement magazine followers that increase mag capacity to 14rds.
Then you'll have a full size 1911 type pistol with the higher mag capacity.
Down side is they aren't that accurate and the slide does wear out.

Stay away from the Sig Mosquito. They are sheyat.
Yea, if you want a Sig Mosquito my son-in-law has one he would probably give you ! What a piece of garbage that is.

Yeah... I had already ruled out the Mosquito simply because it's not what I'm looking for. Most likely I'm going to go with the M9-22 Beretta. But while reseaching that gun I'm running across complaints that spare magazines aren't available so there's that.
