I don’t know how useful they are for commies. Maybe it’s a long term plot.

My personal experience is that masks have created a much more socially distant society at the personal level. A huge part of communication is simply through expression and much of that is lost when most of the face is covered. Maybe it’s part of some grand evil plan, idk. But I rarely put on a mask and I smile when I hold the door for someone. So far I haven’t been screeched at.

Masks have been used by different cultures for centuries to keep subservient people subservient.

It's actually not a free country. There are all kinds of laws, ordinances and regulations that control our freedoms.

I've tried to explain to you in objective terms where you will need to still wear a mask. If you don't want to wear one, then don't go there. It's very simple but you really just want to argue no matter how much common sense it might make, and how little harm it will do you to comply.

So, this concludes our discussion because I'm not going to repeat the same common sense things to you over and over. There are just some people who will never get it and I guess you want to be one of those.
The only common sense answer to you being scared to be in public is for YOU to stay home.
Of all the things that there have been to harm or kill you by breathing without a mask in public the last several decades, NOW you are suddenly scared to have people without them????
    Then stay home.

Well it won't hurt the "eye rollers" if it makes the others feel better and safer. So, let's just leave it at that.
We have absolutely NO obligation or power, to make you FEEL anything. None. Zero . Zip. Nada.
Only you can cure your delusion.

Agreed, I have not worn a mask in stores. However the doctor and hospitals strongly enforce the rules. No mask we will not take care of you, so I do wear one there. Will be interesting to see what happens. Of course there will be folks who still think masks are a good thing. We all have our opinions, which is fine as long as you do not force yours on me.
I told my heart doctor today that I would appreciate him rescheduling me after he finishes pretending that masks really work. I was pissed and had the blood pressure to prove it.

I did research on this mask issue. And the consensus of sound research, prior to 2020, was that masks are not effective at stopping virus transmission.

So why should anyone wear a mask?

If someone is vulnerable, they should self isolate. Have whatever they need from stores delivered, or use curb side service.

If they have to go out, they should be using an N95 medical mask. Others around them wearing a bandanna does nothing to help the vulnerable.
I have COPD and heart problems and they can KMA. The pandemic is so "scary." Scary stuff is what gives people nightmares for years.

OK, time for a little off topic trivia. METV just recently aired that Twilight Zone episode as a tribute to Cloris Leachman. It's not one of my favorite episodes, but I did enjoy seeing a young Cloris. I always enjoy seeing young versions of famous actors in Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock, and Perry Mason.

    ETA:
Now to get back on topic, I had to travel for work last week, and spent 3 nights in a hotel. I was headed down to the bar/restaurant from my 3rd floor room, and hit the elevator button. The elevator descended from one of the upper floors, and as the doors opened and I stepped in, the guy already in the elevator jumped out and started yelling about me not wearing a mask. I asked if he was getting back in and he said I will wait for the next one since you aren't wearing a mask. This guy felt so strongly about mask wearing that he would rather disembark the elevator on a different floor than ride in a 12' X 12' elevator car with someone not wearing a mask. I had a mask in my pocket and would have put it on if he hadn't been such a whiny little bitch boy about it.

I think here in Texas this will shake out to do what you think is right for you, which js what it should have been all along.

If the law (as it stands) allows politicians to force a behavior, that law should be stricken

I say all that as someone who recognizes people have died from this, and other things. The heart of independence is libertarian. If your .gov doesn’t allow for that, then recall is your avenue for change.

I see that sleepy Joe says this is bad. He called it a Neanderthal thinking process. I am sure his handlers are happy with that

Wouldn't it just be easier to move?

He's suppose to be moving to Spain, or Portugal, or Italy. Can't understand why if he's moving what leadership the town you are leaving has, or how bad they are.

I live in East Texas, don't live in Dallas or Houston anymore, so what they do is far from my concerns. But, that's just me I guess.

I lived in California for way too long. I saw the light, and how stupid their people and laws were, and how fucking expensive it is. I moved here in 2005 and wouldn't move back for even 100 million dollars.
