Neglected it for too long. Actually just been too busy. Was home for the big freeze but couldn't wash it then.

May be time to wash the Alabama mud, Phoenix dust, and Texas chemical road treatment off of it.

Washed with Mequiars Wash and Wax, now I need some Mequiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax to finish the job. Makes the car pretty slick and shiny.

Paid my GTI off a year early, now its time for a tune and bigger turbo. Nothing too crazy.

    What GTI do you have?

    I had a Mk IV 1.8T.
Came with a K03S turbo, got an apr tune. Really woke the car up.

Then got a deal on a K04 turbo. Wasn’t too crazy, sort of an incremental step up. But was a cool car and if I get another car (not truck), a GTI would be high on my list.

Its a 2017 Mk7 with the 2.0 TSI engine. Its my 4th VW, but all of the prior ones were TDI Jettas. I just got the APR stage 1 tune and its a pretty big difference over stock. The GTI's are fun little cars.

Fucking hell, why does Hyundai have to rivet their speakers to the door? Swapped the blown speaker in my wife's Veloster for a decent one. On the Veloster forums, owners have been reporting they blew their speakers in the first months, had them replaced under warranty and promptly blew them again.
Just drill out the rivets, they said! Well can't drill them if they just spin. can I. Hacked them off, pulled the custom speaker frame out, gnawed the factory speaker out, then "adjusted" the rear hole for the much larger magnet on the Pioneers, epoxied and bolted the speakers into the custom frame, epoxied and bolted the frame to the door frame, re-assembled the door, gave all controls a function test, and that took me about 4 hours, damn.
Maybe I'll do the other side next week.
