Cars and trucks are all in good shape

I’ve been tinkering with an older riding mower

Picked it up for a song. Since, it’s been keeping me busy in the evenings.

First was a good wash. I don’t think it had ever been washed in its life. Started disassembly, found more dirty and funky , so I washed it again.

I replaced all the vacuum lines. Cleaned the fuel pump, replaced fuel filter, cleaned the coils, added a fuel shutoff switch, new plugs and did a quickie cleanse on the carb.

It still ran like crap. Bought a new carb, got it thrown on there, and it runs like a champ. I can now mow my whole yard, and the neighbors front yard in about the time it takes me to mow just the front yard with a push mower. I’m excited to mow the yard again.

Mrs got a new seat (so much more comfy!)

In the near future, I plan to haul it out to the Farm ( where my extensive tools are) where I will drop out the rear axle, and change the hydrostatic fluid. I will adjust the valves and replace the rocker cover gaskets (one leaks) and then adjust the deck (it is slightly tilted to one side)

Mostly, it’s been labor, and a few bucks here and there.

Coached a friend through installing a blackout lighting kit on her 500 Abarth. She was nervous about having to remove the front end, but she handled it like a champ!

This is my old work bike thats been sitting in my garage since 2018. It's a 2013 and I stopped riding it when I switched to a Goldwing. I debated converting it over to a street bike for weekend riding but I really don't ride for fun anymore. I need to take off the front emergency lights. The siren still comes in handy for the air horn feature. Tomorrow she will get an oil change, clutch adjustment and new brake pads.

Bled 5 psi off the tires. (Winter/towing settings)
Rides and handles better. Should help tread wear too

Did you have to purchase a BMW for off duty work?

Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
    No, already had 2008 R1200GS-A.
Going with Feniex Lights as they are local and made in USA.
It's easy and discrete enough to add some lights to work some escort OT, but I would totally get a newer RT-P if I could find a good one for a good price for off-duty work.

A few days late, but I Got a new one.

2021 Subaru WRX Premium w/6 speed. First boosted/AWD car, even keeping it within recommended break in period it still a blast to drive!

I know it can be a little spendy but I recommend some type of paint protective film for the front bumper and hood if you haven't already done it. Otherwise the front is going to end up looking like The Starry Night. I learned that when I went from a diving a Tundra down to a GTI.

Watch your oil consumption especially after break-in. I am not sure Subaru has gotten past the soft rings they were putting in for awhile.

Those Subaru boxers (maybe only the HiPo ones, a quick search implys they may be in more mondane rides) just don't sound right to me. I hear / read good things but the exhaust note doesn't work . . . for me.

I need to look into a clear bra or something, rock chips drive me nuts!

I like the stock sound, I don’t remember all the details but they changed things not long ago which changed how they sound, have you heard a late model?

I still plan to change the exhaust, which is the only thing I can really do under warranty. I also have ceramic coating to put down, they put something on it at the dealership that’s very slick, but I’ll strip it off soon.

For sound, they made the exhaust manifolds equal-length. Much better sound, much better exhaust scavenging (more powa)

Previously, they were unequal, and it gave the exhaust an uneven lope.

I'm not sure if I've heard the latest. If you're happy with it, that's all that really matters.

I've come to the cold, hard realization that I will never be able to afford the hot rod of my dreams. :(
