I may have to start looking for another insurance company for car and home.

    Any suggestions?

I have Geico for auto and home and Progressive for the bikes. Mine is almost due to renew, so I guess I’ll know in another month or so if mine has increased any

I have an independent insurance agency that finds me the best deals on insurance on a yearly basis. So I change companies every once in awhile.

I have United Heritage currently. $500 & change yearly for the coverage that we need.

I don't do biz with Progressive and never will.

Amica is a company I’ve heard good things about for price and service; they are very selective on who they insure and don’t really market.
I used them for a couple of years. Got the policy through Costco. The first year was a rock bottom price. Nobody else could touch them. The following year went up a little but not much. I’m thinking maybe $150 or $200 but they were still quite a bit less than I was paying Farmers prior to that so I let it ride. The next year it jumped way up, like 30% due to hurricane Harvey even though I never had any claims the entire time I had been with them. In fact, I never had claims with any insurance company or on any house I’ve ever owned in my life. I jumped ship and went with Geico after that. I still get offers in the mail from Amico to come back but they get promptly filed in the round file cabinet

Price AND service. We were 20+ year USAA members.
My subscriber account is almost $16,000. How much in your subscriber account? The last time I used the insurance was for roof following hailstorm. $26,000 paid out without batting an eye. For 2 properties. I have had other companies but never better service. Maybe I am just lucky. Whatever works for you though is fine.

Beware of little game going on in some areas. FlyByNight inc. calls and offers you a really good insurance rate on your home. Later after you are all signed up here comes their inspector "oh your roof doesn't meet our standards for this rate".......... "however for 15%(pick a number) more than what you were paying we have this policy for you". Actually was warned of this by an agent.

Hey, glad you're getting back some of what they have overcharged you for over the years. Wife got rear-ended back in September by an uninsured motorist - one of the issues was her exhaust was bent in such a way that exhaust gases were coming into the passenger compartment. Took them 3 months to get the parts in to repair. Germania covered every penny of it without hassle... The level of coverage we have was unavailable from USAA when we were with them, yet the coverage cost was still less by a little bit. It was the HO policy that was a huge difference - by over $500/yr. And since they cover the guns as part of "contents", I didn't have to add the cost of a premium to cover a $100k (then) gun collection.

Oh - and I'm even covered on the lease - if I accidentally kill livestock or do other damage, I'm covered up to $500k (50% of my umbrella).

Yeah...it works for me. But don't get all worked up over stuff like this - man asked for input, I gave it. My needs are pretty specialized, but other collectors will find themselves in the same boat.

USAA CAN be good - we just found that the overall quality of their coverage and loss response dropped after they opened membership eligibility up to gain more members. I moderate a number of FB pages with pretty substantial military memberships, and the overall response to their insurance IS a mixed bag, with the biggest feedback coming from those who are price sensitive.
In our instance, we left after USAA had deleted our rental car coverage, claiming WE had requested it. Of course, I didn't find out about it until we had a claim. When they claimed to have it "recorded on tape", I demanded to hear it - they never provided it. I had pointed out to them that we carried pretty much max coverage on all our policies, so it wouldn't have made sense for us to have canceled it. 90 days later, we were done w/them.
