About time for some new media for the tumbler, so I ordered a 10lb bag of hazel shells. Never used it before, but it had good reviews, and it was half the price of the crushed walnut shell. Ordered some Flitz tumbling polish also. Usually I just put in a few drops of Nu Polish or whatever the hell its called, but I’m almost out of that anyway, so I’ll try this out. After typing this out I realize just how un-exciting this whole paragraph is!

Did not do that much last night but cleaned some .45 and 9mm from my range trip on Sunday morning. Deprimed and sorted.
Now I am ready to load some blue bullets I received from a friend to try out. They seem like they should work better than the brown bullets I have been using.

Used shim stock to solve an irritating feed problem with a bullet that I hope to never run again. Just a few thousandths makes all the difference in the drop.

Got the mesh endcaps for my FART and my Lee parts to trim 38spec while I was in south Texas.

Really want to try out my spec loads but I don't want to get stuck at the range either.

Played with my new Lee products for trimming 38spec only to find out I should have spent the $20 I blew on it on Pepperidge Farm since the RCBS trim pro I have works better!

I picked up 2000 large rifle primers at academy.

Sad part is a few stores are getting them but the employees are intentionally not putting them out. Around 6 months ago they had powder at one in the Austin area. I got 2 lbs of IMR 4064. More recently I scored some LR primers too. However the gun bar guys all play stupid like oh we don't have any then when I find the one decent employee who looks, he will sell me only 200 at a time.

Completely ridiculous considering it's not loaded ammo. No doubt it's all going to internal sales before it hits the shelf. I've even had them lie when I ask about powder and they'll say we haven't had any for a year, that's when I tell them I bought some there 6 months ago.

When I was lucky enough to get primers a few weeks ago I had also bought a Maverick defender. The manager saw that I had a couple primers and goes oh I didn't know we had any. That tells you the lengths the employees are going to in order to hide them and keep them off the shelves.

One guy was talking to another a while back when I saw one box of Olin Milspec buck in 25ct boxes. I grabbed it and heard they had a "ton" of it in back. I asked politely about it and got one more box. Even though their policy now states 10 boxes of shotgun ammo. They still didn't put anymore out after I got 2 boxes.

Sadly, I'll take what I can get. The primers were 6.99/100 one time and 7.99/100 a few days later. Even though I couldn't get a whole box at once, I asked for the packaging. The girl in front scanned it and a whole box was $20 less. So on top of making me go back repeatedly for 200 at a time I also have to pay more.

Once again, I'm thankful for something but overall pissed about the deceptive practices and lengths they go to in order to "play God" with their inventory.

Not so much today but recently picked up 500 38/357 and 500 40 sw bullets and a lb of reliant pistol powder. So now I can sit down at the bench again got plenty of cases primers and 45 acp bullets as well. Soon Ill set at the RCBS single stage and put together some rounds to replace what Ive shot.

Bet those employees are buying them for resale. Probably a 400% profit doing that. The fact that ammo is coming back means that primers will too.
