If he's doing this, then he's actually breaking his word to us...

I would also call it political suicide as well if he doesn't sign it.

Personally, I'm fairly confident he will sign it. He made a pretty public announcement that he would sign the bill into law if it gets to his desk. I don't think he would have made such a public announcement like that if he was looking for a way not to sign the bill.

I hope the governor is selectively vetoing all the clauses that limit LTC holders' rights in this new bill. Somebody needs to weed out the bad paragraphs so that the bill truly is an expansion to gun rights.

No matter what, it's an expansion. Perhaps not EVERYTHING we wanted - but still more than we had. Welcome to adulthood - you don't always get what you want right away.

 First of all, let me be clear.
    1) I have a LTC and have had for over a decade. It is ONE of the reasons I left Illinois and moved to Texas. Since getting my LTC, I carry well over 90% of the time I leave the house. I feel it is not only my God Given Right, but my Responsibility to do so.
    2) I was NOT advocating for anyone to hide the fact that they carry, simply encouraging people to do so courteously and TRY to understand that some people actually believe that if you carry a weapon, it is because you are looking for a chance to use it and they are scared of you.
    3) Being civil and even polite will often times go a long way in reassuring people that this is NOT the case. Believe it or not, there are a lot of people who honestly don't care if you carry or not, but seeing you acting friendly and even polite to someone who is scared will help them realize the truth of the matter. Someday, who knows, maybe they will vote to protect the second amendment.

I carry all the time, sometimes openly and sometimes concealed. It just depends on the situation and how I feel. Never had an issue with anybody either way.

Abbott could fall dead tomorrow and the bill would become law. No way is he going to veto it. Only thing he's waiting for is to hold the signing party with the bill sponsors/authors at some location that will give them max publicity with 2A supporters. He's got another week to do this.
