Did the class and qual on Easter sunday, than fingerprinted and submitted docs next day.. No status info on DPS site other than "it takes up to 60 days.." So the wait is on...

I got my first notification today with all the boxes checked but question mark by background review. To be expected but at least shows progress in moving the ball. I wonder why a background check only takes a few minutes when buying a firearm (I've bought 3 past few years, most recently a few months ago) but as I understand it, the LTC takes longer. What is the difference ?

So.. Looks like I will be be heading back home home for good in Commiefornia.

I would like to keep my LTC for traveling purposes for other states. I assume I just have to get my address changed to CA and pay the fee for a reprint.

Received LTC today 5/19 .. DPS lost my proof of citizenship and made an error looking at proof of training, so took 2 calls and about a 2 weeks delay.

Just an update on my license:

I received the following email response on the 14th:

"Our records indicate that your license was issued on 05/06/2021 and was NOT returned by the post office as “Undeliverable As Addressed – Return To Sender”. Please verify your current mailing address below. If the address is incomplete or otherwise incorrect, you will need to notify this department so that your web portal can be reset to allow you to submit a change of address request."

So, my assumption is the post office lost my license in the mail. I figured I wasn't going to get a favorable resolution pursuing the issue, so I relented and paid the $25 for a reprint :(

I'm hoping my replacement shows up soon.

Renewal submitted on line 8/26/21, required to submit DD214 (why again?), license in mailbox 9/7/21. Pretty fast considering labor day weekend.
