I have been wanting to engrave this pistol for several years. Finally took some time last week and knocked it out.

Yes, I did the engraving. I build cowboy gear (spurs, bits, buckles, ect.) I used to do a lot of firearm engraving, but decided to focus on the bits and spurs. The paperwork and regulations to maintain my FFL got to be more hassle than it was worth. Plus, I didn't want my dogs shot.

Are you located down near the Fort Worth Stockyards?

I have to agree. The engraving is tastefully done.

Engraving IMO falls into two groups. Those done to showcase a firearm into a work of art, and to present the firearm as more of an art object. Not personally my style, but I still enjoy seeing the artwork and the craftsmanship that went into the firearm.

Then some like yours, is just enough to make it different than all the rest like it. It compliments the pistol.

You do some really nice engraving. Well done sir.

I use a GRS Graver Max system. It runs on compressed air. It’s basically a miniature jack hammer. It uses Carbide or HSS tips sharpened in various geometric profiles.
