I was interested in the new Ruger LCP Max 380 for about 2 weeks. They improved the LCP 2 & added 4 rounds & it's nearly the same size. Cool! Then I checked ammoseek for 380 ammo. No name 380 FMJ is $30/50 rounds & decent carry ammo starts at $100/50 rounds. My Gold Dots were $121.95 for 50. Lost all interest in this pistol.

I placed an order for an LCP Max yesterday. I have 2 LCP's and if this new Max is all that I hope it will be, I'll get another and replace the LCP's. I'm in good shape for .380 ammo, I even sold some a while back.

I just picked up a Max 9. I considered the LCP max, but as stated with ammo availability and the price of it, I couldn't justify another 380.

Paying $30 a box for .380 was average before. But you could get good deals on bulk. Those are gone. Used to get .380 from LAX Ammo
    Gotta pay op these days.
I backed off the purchase of a .32 acp a few days ago cause the ammo is not to be found. Decided I didn't need another child I can't afford to feed.

What .32 did you back out of?

This could have come in useful last weekend. They had us take our items out of our pockets and hold our hands over our heads going through the metal detector. That would have been mighty useful to hide a conceal carry pistol behind the phone.

I just saw the LCP Max and I'm interested. I carry an LCP in my front pocket often. I've been holding off on upgrading to the LCP2 and now I'm glad I held off this long.

I don't know if the OP got back with you but I picked up one today at Bass Pro in Grapevine. Lance there said they got about 40 in. $379.00 plus tax. I had the LCP and LCP II in .380 and I also have a LCP II 22LR. I look forward to doing a range report on this pistol once I get a chance to shoot it. Impressed so far with fit and finish and Ruger's ability to stuff up to 5 more rounds in a basically same sized pistol.

If the price is right I will take it when you decide. Academy has them for $240
I have been thinking a little pocket gun would come in handy especially if
    I wear overalls.
