    San Antonio!
    Hello all,

Finally getting back to Texas, been a forum lurker for awhile. PCSing back to San Antonio area for last duty station before retiring here.

Did the same thing. After completing USAF BMT (81) and later AFROTC FT (87) at Lackland, I avoided the place the best I could. Then we were stationed here between Germany and Belgium (99-02). Hated it the first year, then it really grew on me especially having a young family at the time. After SHAPE I decided I was ready to retire, and the wife and I agreed SA was the best place to do so, so we returned in 05 and I hung up the uniform the next year. Been a contractor on Lackland ever since.

Retiring from the military can be stressful but millions have done it and survived. Do you plan on another career, or are you lucky enough to enjoy life from here on out?
