He knows this is where all the smart people hang out! Luckily, y'all let me hang out as well!An odd place to post this question, since this is not an aviation forum.

Some of these newer members are quite strange people. It is a wonder as this's a forum comprised of straight people...
Won't fit at GTU.Someone wants permission to land their AN-225 Mriya at the airport.
Thought that was a AN-124 with only four engines... Saw it sitting on the apron when we went on the apron to escort a Lt, killed in Afganistan, off a 737 after being flown home.Won't fit at GTU.
But IIRC, Mriya visited Austin Bergstrom. I remember because people were freaking out that either the Russkis brought us the Sputnik vaccine or were stealing our vaccines.
Lemme ask my friend who works in Austin and was the one who reported the airplane to me. I hope he knows. The AN-124 was a huge plane! Any idea what it was doing here?
Do you always ask yourself questions, then answer them.My bad, I was told it was the 225, maybe because it looked so big.
The Ruslan is a "baby" compared to Mriya. Saw it in person as a kid, doing a demo flight. Oof, that thing is majestic. And huge.
Nonetheless, I do not believe either of these beasts could fit at GTU.
Could they land? Not really, rwy won't support the weight.
Could they take off? Possibly, if near empty weight. But their engines would probably rip up the new ashpalt, grass and lights.
Could they taxi? Unlikely. No taxiway wide enough for the main gear, I believe.
As a pilot I'm curious what your interest is in this???I am in industrial real estate operations and trying to identity the owners that operate KGTU. It is a city owned, public airport but I am not seeing pension fund/management information anywhere. Does anyone have information on the ownership of the Georgetown Municipal Airport?
Yeah, it is a HUGE planeMy bad, I was told it was the 225, maybe because it looked so big.

While noble and helpful idea, please do expect a lot of sticks thrown under your feet by the city council and others.Investing to build and lease hangars according to GTU’s master plan
