Ruger released a leftie 10/22. Looks awesome. There is a right hand model available for all of us normal people too

I never really understood left handed guns. I'm a hard-core Southpaw and pretty sure my right arm is just for looks and balance. Never had an issue with shooting anything. Also with as much as I like to trade and sell the market for left handed stuff is not good. I do eventually want a lefty handed bolt action rifle. If I knew that I'd keep it. Maybe like a Cooper or something.

Ruger 10/22 is already left friendly IMO.

Hmm, kinda cool to have the option I guess.

Let my daughter shoot my slick sided upper AR-15, which tends to eject the brass nearly straight rearward since there's no block for the bounce to rebound from. As a lefty, that means the brass pops her in the right cheek.

So I did what any father would do - built her an AR-15 with a 'regular' upper.

I think it would work well for right handed folks also. One never has to remove their grip to cycle the bolt! (if it needed cycling because of a misfire, etc.).
    ...or subsonics....lol.....

Have a Savage Rascal (wood) L/hand 22 rifle on the shelf for 5 years.....not a big seller in these parts....

For me (a southpaw), shooting a LH rifle feels unnatural - because I've spent a lifetime shooting RH rifles (& consequently eating brass occasionally). Still...a LH 10-22.........would be nice but hard for my heirs to sell. Argh! LH mags too!!!

The down side is that I would need left handed magazines to feed it. None of the dozens of right handed magazines that I have are compatible.
It would get old real fast to have to load 10 rounds each time I shoot 10 rounds.
From the literature that I read, the bolt and barrel are left handed because of the extractor has to be reversed and the feed lips on the magazine are angled the other way for feeding.

Does anyone know if any place local has them? I missed a gun broker auction that had them for $800. Daughter shoots lefty and have been on backorder for a LH T1X.

I got one on Saturday from "Galley Of Guns" website, and shipping to my local gun store within 4 days.
I got the email from Gallery that they were back in stock.
Ruger Store has BX-1 LH spare magazines also, ordered several.

I downloaded a copy of the instructional manual for the LH (yes its different from the standard 10/22) and noticed this warning message in it:
