While this is the nicest way to tell people they need to get the jab to keep their job, this is very disappointing. Surprising? No, but disappointing. Maybe Steve Hornady should've told people "If you have a religious or medical objection to this, please make sure you talk to HR ASAP so we can process your request and resume business as usual."

Wonder how the fallout is going to hit production, but I guess when you dand is as high as it’s been for the last 18 months and you’ve got billions in backorder, it doesn’t teally matter.

It matters. Those backorders can go away as fast as they came in if someone else is delivering product.

Did anyone expect folks with major federal contracts holders to push back hard against this. They might not object if sone injunction gets passed, but they won’t rock the money train that is the federal government. Get used to it. If the mandate meets the agenda it will be supported. If it goes against like say altering contracts for sanctuary states/cities it will get struck down.

Folks are delusional if they did. Government is the largest employer across this nation. Government is the biggest purchaser in this nation. Corporate America follows the money and the government is the money.

Let people get mad and stop buying ammo. I need more ammo. More hornady for me.

Who knows what scenarios they face that’s different than in and out. If any.

In and Out isn't a "government contractor" - the definition of "government contractor" seems awfully broad it seems. Government buys shit from you? Boom, government contractor, it seems. I guess if ol' Bo Jiden decided to take everyone on his cabinet out to an In and Out for lunch, and uses the FedGov credit card, he'd consider them a "government contractor" too.

Here's a thought - Hornady could've just said "No, we're not going to comply" and told the feds "we're cancelling your order and refunding deposits on product not yet delivered" - there's more than enough consumer demand at this point to make up for it.

Compliance just keeps the bullshit flowing.

Having worked in the firearms industry I have often questioned how far businesses would go in order to do the right thing. Let’s be real: most of us would put jobs first. It’s important to keep contracts.

Has the line in the sand for business owners been crossed? I believe so. I believe we are finally in a time that requires business to stop doing business with government. There will always be people that talk tough but will never act. I get it. Owning a business and having it tank because you’re making a political statement is often foolish but I think we’re at a point that if you are for America, it’s time to defend it. We need the help of business to do that.

Per The Constitution, federal law is supposed to originate in the U.S. House of Representatives; not from the President in an Executive Order. It is long over due for the Supreme Court to “reel in” these presidential EOs. We have a president, not a dictator - the SCOTUS needs to get off their duff and severely restrict OR eliminate Executive Branch EOs.

Yeah, yeah... the Supreme Court can’t do anything unless they have a court case to rule on. Don’t tell me for one minute, if they let it be known they were willing to take such a case, there wouldn’t be an army of lawyers across the country chomping at the bit to get their case in front of the Supreme Court!

Ronnie Barrett set a good example for firearms industry leaders when he told California agencies to FOAD when they banned the .50 cal. Barrett is still in business. I hope they tell Brandon to piss off too.

    Their company. Their rules.
Exactly and it’s been my experience after meeting owners that I can count several that really don’t care about the consumers or their rights. It’s about the dollar.

Almost everyone who has millions will wake up, look in the mirror and not care what happens. Some surprise us.

Two can play the game. Hornady can be quite liberal in their religious and medical exemptions.

Why would the federal government be bothered with this sort of crap as long as they get their product? It comes down to control and tyranny.

Does Hornady make that much money from the federal government over civilian sells? I suppose so.

SMH…. In And Out is standing up against it.

Hopefully their mfg output comes to a screeching halt
in&out is actually very secretive about their employees, they are saying no for checking customers...

Anyways, our little 2-3 boxes here and there is not their concern, they are worried about the gov contracts, and the letter clearly says "we get it, it is unfait but dont **** with our business"

    Sucks for everyone

Not really, but Delta said no mandate and they won’t lose a single cent in .gov contracts because they actually read the contractor EO and fed task force guidance and understand when and where it applies.

Having said that, their company, their rules, but Hornady ammunition is privately held so they have no real reason to publish their internal decision since there are no public stockholders. The only reason they have to publicly announce something is for PR purposes. That should speak volumes about their motivation in releasing the announcement.

This doesn't look like a public announcement. This looks like an internal letter that got leaked.

Now that I can see it on a computer, I agree. The kicker is Hornady is subject to the Fed EO for covered employees at covered workplaces due to their contracts with the FBI at a minimum, but the letter references the OSHA ETS, which hasn’t been issued yet.

As an HR guy, I can guess at what their implementation strategy may look like and if it’s what I think it’s probably the best they can do given the circumstances.
