Driving as much as I do for work I decided to get a new car so I could drive more comfortably. I love manual transmission but cruise control makes driving long distance a lot more comfortable.

Went to Autonation Toyota today and lo and behold, the best of both worlds.

Toyota Corolla hatchback with the 2.0 4 cylinder engine with 6 speed manual transmission. And cruise control. Had to have it. So I bought it. Drives like you would expect a Toyota to drive, which is smooth and seamless.

Congratulations on a nice vehicle! I’ve always preferred a manual transmission but American mfgs want to sell auto transmissions. All of my manual transmissions had cruise control during the last 30 years. Unfortunately my Tacoma and Subaru are automatic which my wife prefers. I didn’t want to swap her too.

    In the woods...
I prefer a manual except when dealing with stop-n-go traffic. AND, in a Jeep Wrangler.

My first auto-trans in a Wrangler (2002) taught me that I was wrong in thinking a standard transmission was better for sand and mud! The auto made it much easier to prevent getting stuck!

My 2008 and 2013 Corollas and my 2015 Tacoma are all manuals and do not have cruise control. I think Toyota just started having it as an option on their manuals in the last few years.

American car makers only offer automatics because they get better mpg now. Manuals used to get better milage but with 6 and 8 speed automatics that's not true anymore.

You're lucky to find it. I've been looking for 2 months or more for a Tacoma 4WD with heated seats. They can't be found anywhere near me. Especially the TRD Pro which is what I want.

My neighbor who works off shore is sporting a new Toyota Tacoma 4X4. I was real surprised to see it as his work truck was in great shape & he hardly drives his car, but then again he's gone a lot.

So I go over with beers and he explains the new truck. He had a rechargeable back up cell battery that caught fire while off shore. He said when walk up on his truck he wonder who & why his windows were tinted. He thinks the bottle of soda help put out the battery fire.He said he drove back from Venice, La with his head out the window.

Father-in-law wanted a Corolla that was manual w/ cruise. Dealer had to install it because Toyota didn't offer the option at the factory. This was a while back. Maybe Toyota is coming around but manuals are a dying breed.

It is unusual to find new vehicles with that third pedal, but I am stoked that Toyota now has manuals with CC
