I'm trying to pull together the next few episodes of 2A Ricochet. Anyone got any topics they'd like to talk about? I endeavor to do Texas issues, news, topics first and then move on to other states/federal after that. So what interests you that you'd like us to talk about? Post away!

I have one that might be of interest. With the recent passage of the new "permitless carry" law, talking about the legalities of the new law, for those that choose this option, rather than carrying with a permit, but more in layman's terms than lawyer legalese.

How the various signs apply, and to whom. Maybe with real world examples that explain the differences, in easy to understand ways.

Another interesting topic, and it has come up a few times on the forum, was the recent passage of the Texas suppressor law, and the legalities of it as well, and how it applies in the real world to Texans.

On a side note, great job you are doing and the podcast is a great idea as well.

    Thanks.

So, I was worried I had beat this to death already but gosh am I happy to do it again, if y'all have interest.
I think there are probably plenty of people that are confused by the legalese terminology of the new law, and how some signs have changed, but some have stayed the same. Even I get a little confused!

I think discussing a comparison between a person carrying with a LTC permit, vs. a person carrying under the "permitless carry" law would be useful. There is some discussion of some members talking about whether to renew their LTC permits since the new law has gone into effect. The pro's and con's of both methods might be of benefit even to new people deciding whether to get a LTC permit or just carry under the new law.

Anybody else got anything they'd like to hear about?

There's lots of confusion on the new suppressor law for some folks out there. Maybe you can put some pressure on Abbot to get him to get a made in Texas suppressor to set the precedence going forward for all Texans against any federal case.

Gun Laws while you are in your car.
    a. You are surrounded by protestors who have
stopped your vehicle and refuse to let you move.
At what point is the forceable restriction they have engaged in considered kidnapping or a similar felony? If they begin to break your windows and there is a crowd of them.. Are
you justified for "fear of life".
    b. Castle Doctrine while in car.

It’s an election year. Let’s talk about what influences a 2A group to endorse a particular candidate and how early a decision to endorse is made.

A little of the sausage making and a little of why we should support one 2A org’s endorsed candidate over a different 2A org’s endorsed candidate.

I had a similar thought. Not so much about signage, but just "how is it working out?". I think we are almost a half year into CC now. Has everyone been killed? Has anyone been saved? Was there any net change in overall crime stats? Was there even an increase in folks carrying?

This might not be popular but, how about a series on the migration of new people to the state. In particular the effects of said immigrants that want to rejoice in new found freedoms and embrace integration, and emissary or antagonist positions that want to destroy the freedoms this state represents in relation to gun Rights.

Similar questions to what Todd said in post #11 - Who, How, What, Why, a particular candidate. Either state level, or fed. level. And for that fact, local level.

Any and all information yáll can pass along about the ammunition, black powder, reloading components, and any other supply chain stuff.

Various firearms terminology could be worth while to spend some time on. Especially proper definitions of commonly confused terms. For example:
    - silencer vs suppressor
    - handgun vs pistol vs semiauto vs revolver - is revolver included in the definition of a “pistol” or only semiauto considered a pistol?

I think this too is a great topic for discussion on your podcast.

Talking about different candidates their stances of guns and the 2nd Amendment. Candidates the TSRA endorses or gives high marks to for their stances on gun rights. Also maybe some that we need to avoid like the plague!

I guess I’ve been living under a rock.
Andi’s reporting sounds very interesting - please tell me how/where I can watch?
https://tsrapac.com/2a-ricochet-2/ has all the episodes! You can also find us on your favorite podcast platform, if you listen to podcasts. (Many's the day that I've caught a podcast on my way into or coming home from the Capitol!)

I could find no articles or posts after about 9/30/21 regarding Permitless Carry and its effects. I'm guessing that's because the sky didn't fall despite some who said it would! No way to tell statistically if more folks are carrying because it's permitless-so no records to compare to. If y'all see an article about someone who was saved due to PC, make sure I know. I do keep looking but I am not perfect so I could miss something.

HA! Will I have fun with this one! I'll add it to the list!

I am not certain that any other group gives grades or endorsements on all the state house races the way NRA and TSRA do. PLEASE, inform me if I am wrong about that?!
