The Road House on #149 in Montgomery is excellent, haven't been there in some months - gonna make up for that in the next week or so. Our favorite BBQ place used to be the Hickory Corral over in West Magnolia. Owner had just bought the place when the covid scare hit. He had previously worked as the head cook, then the manager; then managed to buy the place. Sadly, when they had to close for the covid, he couldn't keep up payments, and they had to shut the place down. He and his wife were excellent people, and the food there was always outstanding!!!

I tried Pappas BBQ one time. Yuk. For a chain, Luthers was pretty decent. Pisses me off to this day that Pappas bought them out only to shut them all down.

I'll have to beg to differ. Luther's was some of the worst BBQ I have ever eaten in Houston. Many people raved at how good they were. I tried two different locations ans was not impressed in the least.
