Democratic socialist suggested that minimum wage should be $30 per hour. No way man!
Kind of important to point out it's one store in NYC, don't ya think?

Workers who hope to organize a union at Apple’s Grand Central Terminal store want workers to be paid a minimum of $30 per hour, according to a website for the group, Fruit Stand Workers United, that was updated on Monday.

Employees at Apple’s high-profile store in New York City started to take steps to unionize earlier this year, posting the first public-facing website announcing their effort over the weekend.

I've never had a job that paid 30 bucks and hour. I'm retired but I would have to go to work at McDonald's just to pay my bills after the inflation kicks in.
I have had several, but it took years of training and work experience to get to that level of pay. A bit more than just the ability to flip burgers or drop some fries!

One of the biggest problems we have is that the generation that was never taught about consequences is the one developing the most power these days. They have no concept of "cause and effect" and, being a millennial (gag) myself, I have a pretty good idea what these idiots are thinking (or not thinking, is more like it).

Nobody knows the difference between real value and perceived value, and they don't realize that the market is what sets their worth. All they know is "Mmm. More money on check good," but they don't stop to think about where that money comes from or how their handouts are going to affect the economy as a whole. No such thing as a free lunch.

Too many rods were spared, and now we have spoiled children pushing for stupid legislation.

Lots of companies don't want unions. I remember years ago when the WalMart stores had actual meat departments with meat cutters. Meat cutters started talking about joining a union, because union meat cutters made more money. Now WalMart did away with meat cutters and went to pre-packaged meat as a way to get away from the meat cutters going union.

Many companies will find ways around paying higher wages than normal if possible. Look at some of the automation in fast food and retail stores. For the most part, doing away with checkers and order takers. If these idiots aren't careful, they are going to price themselves right out a job.

I keep reading places like mcd's or even sit down restaurants will pass on the minimum wage increase to the cost of the grub.

    Not, if I don't eat out and I don't.

I suggest you that lament the higher cost of burgers, fries etc. consider eating at home or pack your own lunch.

Doing this is not a new idea, but it's still a good one!

Let fast food workers go to $15 an hour. Fast food for most is a luxury, or a convenience, and many, if not most will stop eating there. And at that point, they won't have a job!

    Stupid idiots.
I can't remember which commie city went to $15 minimum wage a few years ago. Seattle or some other shithole implemented it and the fast food workers were mad about losing their welfare since now they made too much money.

Fast food Job was never expected to be a career it was a stepping stone into the work force.

My first job was Bus Boy at Taco Kitchen Restaurant when I was 15. That lasted one night because, unknown to me, I had mononucleosis. Second job at 16 was prep work at an H.Salt Esquire fish n chips in a strip mall. Worked there til I graduated, then went right to work full time at AT&T. And attended Community College at night.

What kind of parent tells their kids they can plan on supporting a family while working a min wage job???

At my advanced age and crippledness, I have lost so many hobbies that food, TV, and shooting a .22 is all that is left. Can't afford to take the wife to a restaurant, so if inflation also robs me of being able to eat fast food once in a while, that is yet another sad loss. Bummer!

They use to have laws against vagrancy. Seems if they would enforce them, and put these homeless people in work camps, or road gangs, it would solve lots of the issues of them hanging out in places where they don't belong and causing problems.
Helping them get used to earning their way again would be good.

Granted, some have serious mental illness.
