Ukraine - A test bed for the weapons research industry, building and selling human death with very effective weapons...the military/industrial complex does care how many die ( in a single strike), whatever the numbers, it's still just a drop in the bucket...just open up another can of humans and give your howling a rest, there's lots to go around...the death merchants think - just like c-19 vaccines, we gotta kill off mora theze humans, the 'urt' cain't stand this many people, plus we gotta see if our 'latest and greatest weapons' do the job with great effciency at low cost...so missiles away...

...human death, ppppfffft, who cares, the 'urt' is crawling wif em...too many of em.

Does my ' latest edition Cruise Missile' make me look fat...?

Oh look, we killed 500 with that one...as Tony the Tiger says: GREAT!

So Russia invaded in order to send more business to the US weapons manufacturers?

I think it’s more about control of resources. Certain businesses just happen to make a lot of money when things like this happen. And yes, it’s been a great opportunity to test things without American lives being on the line.

You act like the time it’s taken for Russia to finally have some kind of victory is anything other than embarrassing for them.
The Ukrainians had a lot invested in keeping the DPR and Russia from taking Mariupol. The Azovstal plant was a hard target and the Azov Battalion and other Ukrainian soldiers there were well entrenched and well supplied. Mariupol and those soldiers were a big loss to the Ukrainians. Ukraine may still claim it, and say they won't negotiate it away, but they'll play hell taking Donetsk back now...

Patton was right about mobility and combined arms.

Russia strength was in "Quantity having a Quality all its own" doctrine. Now they have neither Quantity of weapons or Quality of weapons and tactics.

Shit they just announced they are now accepting 45 year old recruits for positions in their military.

Are you referring to the aircraft or the ALCM's ability to survive enemy air defenses?

Given the stand off range of the ALCM, the Russian aircraft should be able to launch out of the range of Ukranian air defense.

    Both.

What the aircraft/weapons are capable of and how they are employed are two entirely different things. Having watched, in real time, the Soviet ALCM ops in Syria, stand off range isn’t in their tactical playbook when delivering conventional munitions.

Claiming that battle was a victory for the rashists hows how badly the rest of their war is going for them.

Kinda like "Just catching fire" is somehow a good (or believable) excuse for a flag ship to sink...

I think Ukraine will be glad to see you in the Ukrainian army. If you want, I can give you the phone number of the embassy?

Why keep making this about me?

This is about Russia, THE other superpower, who has bashed its own head in against a nation with a fraction of its military budget.

To suggest Azovstal/Mariupol was victory shows ignorance of what a military victory looks like. Azovstal fell, but it was not a russian victory. Russia spent huge amounts of resources, including time, which was greatly disrupted their time line and prevented those resources from being applied elsewhere, which had a knock-on effect of leaving other russian positions under manned to overwhelm defenses. But thankfully Russia continued to bash their own head in with attacks, in the same place, day after day.

Besides the loss of Azovstal, where has Russia made significant advances? Have they captured bridge heads? Encircled a salient?
    Made a breakout?

Explain your position why you think Mariupol was a victory worth celebrating? Or even checking off as a victory? Juice vs the squeeze bro... russia got that juice, but they broke their hand squeezing...

Pyrrhic victory would be the appropriate term.

They aren't just fighting Ukraine. I bet if Ukraine didn't have support from other countries , they would have already lost.

No other troops involved. Munitions and intel, yes. And those are valuable.

Be that as it may. Bottom line is that Russia has all it can handle. I seriously doubt they will look for another fight right now.
