    A little history...

1966 2 friends enlisted in the Marines under their buddy system. And of course they ended up in Nam. 12 days after they arrived, they got caught in a fire fight while crossing a rice paddy. Keep in mind this was their 12th day in country. Danny was KIA and Eddie was shot up pretty bad and wasn't expected to make it. But with the grace of God, he did. My time in the Army was 2 years later. Eddie and I kept in touch until he passed last year.

With all of the kidding around between the Marines and Army, One thing will always be true.

AMEN to that. I had two friends who dropped out of our high school our senior year and enlisted USMC and sent to 'Nam. We begged them to wait but they said their country needed them now. Both KIA at Con Thien in heavy fighting 1967. I joined USMC after graduation and also spent time at Con Thien of all places. Was a very eerie feeling knowing two friends had died at such a small outpost on the DMZ and now here I was. Met some Army guys while there and you're right, we're all brothers.
