Quite a few protestors from what I've seen. Seemed peaceful, albeit pretty vocal. I've been motherfucked and called a traitor already so hopefully it doesn't get worse than that. I did see some females holding up signs saying MILFS AGAINST AR15'S.

Lol were any of them actual MILF material? I don't know how you keep a straight face, being called names. I know I couldn't. Stay safe man.

I guess I should take a break and post something.

The show takes up the whole convention center.

These views aren't the best because these are taken through the tinted glass on the second story but you should be able to get an idea of just how many exhibitors are there.

I've made it through maybe a quarter of the exhibits. Here are some things that caught my eye.

    Who wouldn't want an MR73?

Lots of pistol caliber carbines are just, in Col. Cooper's words, machines for throwing balls. No personality. No pizzazz.

Not the case here. These are 9mm, side-feeding, bottom-ejecting, FG42-looking PCCs. Kinda cool to me.

I thought the point of that foldable Kel-Tec 9mm was it being so light and compact. Apparently not. They now have a version with an integral suppressor that weighs over 9 pounds. :)

Driving to work past the convention center and there are 2 news helicopters hovering over like vultures! And a plane dragging a banner, but I cant quite read what it says.

Edit: Banner says GOP= Guns Over People!

However, if you got away from the convention center, there were others. The plaza in front of the Toyota center was full of protesters. The pictures, taken from my car, don't convey the mass of people. There were folks lined up for a block in each direction.

I don't have any pictures because they were too far away but the side of Discovery Green furthest from the convention center was packed. There were at least as many protesters there as in the pictures above.

Bottom line - Thousands of protesters were there today. I expect the weekend to be even more full.

Side note - I never found the 1pm prayer group that was going to do a silent march through the convention center.

Naturally, the protesters were getting lots and lots of media coverage.

About parking, I self-parked in the garage next to the convention center to avoid the valet fee. It still cost me $25.

When you exit the parking garage (at least where I exited), you can turn left or right. If you turn left on the two way street, it's closed at the next intersection forcing you to turn right on to a one-way street going the wrong way.

IOW, you have to u-turn in the middle of the intersection to keep from driving against traffic. Somebody overlooked something when they set up the traffic detours around the convention center.

Needless to say, traffic after you get out is barely crawling.

If I had it to do over again, I'd park further away and walk. However, if you do you'll probably have to make your way through crowds of protesters.

So far the speakers have been great as I'm watching on C-SPAN. S. Dakota governor Kristi Noem was great. Of course Ted Cruz is a good speaker. It's a shame the Uvalde evil is taking over the main subject. But at the same time it's important for the government to put more money in protecting our children in school!

On the bright side, the check-in crowd was pretty light. It took me less than a minute to get checked in since I wasn't buying a membership and waiting on a kiosk to open. I just showed my card to one of the workers who handed me my badge.

This one's just for fun. You'll have to take my word for it because the picture is so blurry but you could get a demo and buy a set of ratcheting pruning shears. No, that's not a typo.

Why these people were exhibiting at the NRAAM, I have no idea.

I said there were thousands of protesters and I stand by that. But I just saw an NBC reporter say there were 50,000 protesters.

That wasn't just wrong, it was beyond stupid. I wonder just how gullible they think their viewers are?

They said almost the same thing back when it was in Dallas. I only saw a few dozen in person then, but, they are "The most trusted news source." Just ask 'em.

LOL, probably not protestors. There were a few graduations at Toyota Center today.
