Yep. This is their mythology. If abortion is restricted, then obviously we're coming for contraception next. And gay rights. And we're going to enslave women as breeding stock.

And no, that's not my hyperbole. That's their actual narrative. Someone I know personally posted on Facebook that "this is the first step to Gilead!" - referencing the left's favorite oppression porn, "A Handmaid's Tale". Which, of course, we on the right are supposedly full-on in support of making come true according to them.

I pretty much heard exactly those statements a couple or three times today when Congressional witch critters were spewing forth.

I can say with near certainty you will find very few men, married or single, in favor of restricting contraceptives.

Who the hell is asking for that?

I understand certain religions don’t believe in it, but even then I’ve never once heard someone who follows such a faith mention wanting them restricted. So I don’t think the argument will get much traction. And people will get tired and move on.

That's just it. Nobody's saying that...but the left is saying loudly and repetitively that it's what we want. They've always tied that to any challenge of Roe v Wade - contraceptives, gay rights, minority rights, anything they can get people to believe the right will "go after" next. I'm surprised they're not claiming there will be witch trials starting soon.

If there were witch trial, Pelosi should be very worried.

Hillary will never see a day in court. Even the left knows that nobody would believe that.

Not around here I'm not. But if I had to guess, in some of the larger more liberal cities, it probably is being discussed about with much displeasure.
Think we need to be watchful...

I think Dems are really going to push the birth control angle due to it being mentioned...
Don’t even need to think about it; when you strip it all away, for half a century, the Ds have used abortion as the raison d’être for a big and strong federal government as the protector of fundamental rights of citizens.

The crux of Roe was that thru the concept of substantive due process, which says, well, what is and isn’t a fundamental but unenumerated constitutional right changes to suit the times. In essence, that .govs can just make this shit up as they see fit. And that’s why Roe is so critical to Ds and it has nothing to do with pregnancy.

Between Dobbs and Bruen, the current Court has not just said that concept is dubious, but that it’s fundamentally wrong and that threatens everything about what the current D politics are. In essence, these two opinions cut at governmental powers to the core, creating a near-existential crisis for today’s D party.

I rode an elevator with a fat dike today. She was screaming at her phone. Went something like this.

" In 2016 do you know how many people voted for trump because they didn't like Hillary? I don't give a F**k if you don't like her, 60 years of jurisprudence down the drain"

I'm assuming she is upset with the recent supreme court appointments and the recent decision.

Whole time I'm trying to figure out why she is so worried about abortion. Unwanted pregnancy is not really a hazard i see in her future.

Sex is usually required for a pregnancy to occur!

She's a true believer in the mythology. She believes she'll be rounded up and put in an extermination camp because the left has told their followers that's what the right wants to do to minorities, gays and anyone who's not Christian. She's built her entire identity around that mythology.

The news showed many gay protestors - why are they concerned with unwanted pregnancy?

Damn good question. Scissoring doesn't lead to pregnancy, and men can't get pregnant, despite what the lefty mouthpieces say. Only thing a gay guy is birthing might be a taco-bell turd with his partner's special sauce topping. Not many gay people getting knocked up, or knocking others up.

Saw a joke that describes the problem perfectly.
I went to my favorite bar today and found the bartender had been replaced by a robot due to the $20/hr wage you gotta pay nowadays.
The robot said" What will you have?"
"A martini" I said. The robot brought me the best martini I ever drank.
"what's your IQ sir" asked the robot.
"170" I said. We talked about space travel, quantum theory and medical research.
Had my drink and left, but I wondered about something.
So I walked back in and the robot asked "what will you have sir?"
"A martini" I said the robot brought me the best martini ever. Then asked"What's your IQ"
I told him "50". He leaned over and asked "so do you still believe Biden and the Democrats are doing a good job?"
