**** that. Drop all the nukes. Bring on the roaming bands of scavengers, raiders, and cannibals. Time to go all "Book of Eli" or "Fallout: New Vegas" before I'd let that...thing...anywhere near my ding a ling or my precious lil' booty butt. No laws in the wasteland, so the righteous could quickly sort out the unrighteous.

Yes, the Republicans are in trouble! I have voted almost a straight Republican ticket since Clinton, but no more. When die-hard constitutional voters have finally given up on the RINOs (gun bill was the final straw) after being repeatedly betrayed for no reason! There is no longer a desire to give them any support, they are just as bad as the Democrats (in different ways)!

Until term limits are passed this country will continue to collapse. Let's hope for a viable Libertarian party, but I am not holding my breath.

The main reason Texas would turn blue will be the RINOs. If the Republicans running (Cornyn, Abbott, Phelan, Kacal, etc.) vote to empower Democrats, then why vote Republican? Put some real Constitutional (US & TX) conservatives on the ballot, and the tide will turn. Just ask Ted Cruz....
    Don't forget that asshole Straus.
Soon as he got booted he went to fundraising for the Dems.

As more and more people resettle to Texas, we seem to inch closer and closer to going Blue. Is anyone else thinking that bringing R v W back to the forefront, it risks engaging more and more swings to the liberal side, ultimately pushing Texas to flip? I've been having more and more political conversations with people who I never felt were political before. Will that translate to the polls?
I didn't read all 100+ posts and won't comment further on the disgusting barbarism that is abortion nor those that perpetuate it, but will comment on the influx.
I'm in the middle of moving to TX from GA. (Close next week). GA has been invaded by NY, NJ and IL. They are coming for the drastically lower COLA and general quality of life. It's been a slow erosion since the '96 Olympics but really accelerated the last 10 years. GA absolutely will turn blue. The combination of the unapologetic liberals moving in and the ever growing urban centers, along with the short sighted anterior hurt "conservatives" who stay home on election day due to hurt feelz, makes it a foregone conclusion. I said last go around Stacey will win in 2024. Georgia hasn't had one single state wide elected office held by a D in what seemed like a glorious forever until the two current idiot Senators, beat the 2 milquetoast R incumbents last go around. The tide has turned.
In TX, I think it's a "little" different.
I doubt anyone knows but I suspect you have a higher percentage of conservative influx than many other places. While the COLA is better most anywhere than Cali (for example) they aren't moving to TX for the weather. I have 5 family members that have moved to TX from Cali. 4 of the 5 are staunch Conservatives. And I mean hard core when it comes to the voting booth. The 5th lives in Austin. We won't talk about her.... except to say she also absolutely detests the murder of the unborn.
When me, my wife, and son move there, that'll be 3 more votes against the socialist, communist, lunatics.
If I ever see that mewling pathetic squeeze Beto in person, y'all will see me on the news. You can say "I think I know who that guy is."
Having said all that, it's freaky how much San Antonio reminds me of Atlanta.... 20 years ago. I mean spooky similar. I do fear for it's future... but I'll put up the good fight while I'm there.

    As more a

100%. It’s not about complacency of Republican voters in Texas it’s about having and issue that’s important to them safely tucked in that decision so they could focus on other important state issues. Now that Roe has shifted you’ll see that as the hill they’ll die on and kill the Republican Party in Texas. You’re already seeing towns and counties passing resolutions.

I didn't leave CA for TX only to be followed by Libtards. If their politics are so awesome they should stay where they are, in fantastically successful cities like LA and SF where there is absolutely nothing wrong, obviously. If people move to TX like I did then they have to accept the politics of this great state instead of trying to poison it like they did in CA. #1A all day. #2A all day.

They should, but they are overflowing Austin, and making the surrounding counties turn Democrat, before the wackos used to just be confined to Austin (Travis County). I can easily see, being in one of the surrounding counties and being shocked at how many idiot neighbors have a Beto sign in their yards.

As to term limits, here in Michigan, we have a rule. Three two-year terms and you're out. Regrettably I will be losing a good state rep. Jason Wentworth, but we were redistricted out anyway. Time to start looking for a good replacement.

Yes, a viable 3rd, 4th, ....and 10th political party is the answer. But that answer isn't available now, and is further from being an answer than any time in the last 30 years.
The Libertarian party abdicated to the democrat party. Ergo, the Libertarian party does not exist in any meaningful way.

So while we wait for the Libertarian party to re-create itself, and for the other 10 political parties to become viable, we have only two choices: R or d.

RINOs suck, but they are better than d's, and I'm sure those scumbags are very happy in that niche. Until we can primary out the RINOs, we have no choice but to vote for them, otherwise it's Francis O-Roarke or whatever his name is.

I hope not. While I have not been a fan of abortion I grew up in the era of town girls disappearing to go visit their "aunt" in another city for a month or more. What I have never cared for is the fact that the federal gov't gives money to, and supports, Planned Parenthood. Making abortion easier to obtain has only increased the number of abortions in our communities. If the decisions concerning abortions should be state concerns, so should the paying for them. The lack of fathers in the home and core family beliefs in many have contributed to the lack of self-restraint. Mothers should have to state who the father(s) are and the men (loose term) should have to contribute.

if they amend the law so that it accounts for medical issues then I would say this ruling will not change even a single vote.

I am in favor of the constitution which says all rights not expressively given to the federal government should be for the states.

We should have the right to guns (federal constitutional rights)
We should have the right to medical care without government interference whether it is abortion or vaccinations. It is amazing how almost all people believe in "my body, my choice", but not to both parts of the previous statement.

My view on the issues is pertinent only to myself, and other people's opinions should be respected as well.

I read once that native Texans supported Beto over Cruz in the Senate Election. What carried Cruz to victory was a greater number of "imports" in Texas that supported Cruz.

My body, my choice falls apart when a doctor is shoving scissors in the back of the skull of an unborn baby. That body isn't her body.
