Maybe so, but the angled device is the thing you slam forward when your bolt doesn't go all the way home because your chamber is dirty or full of jungle rot or fouling from the cheap shit ball powder the military now uses to save a few pennies because they don't care if you live or die. Original M16's didn't have them. Alot of American soldiers had to die with jammed weapons back when your daddy had to go to foreign countries and kill the people who lived there before the Democratic administration finally mandated a weapon design change. The bolt assist was added and the milspec barrels were finally given chromed bores and chambers; which Armalite and Colt had originally not included because it was not "cost effective"...

Not true, either. The fouling and jamming issue was because McNamara (part of the Democrat administration) ignored Armalite and Colt's specs for the powder to use and went cheap on the ammo, which led to corrosion in the rifles. When the proper ammo was used in testing, the rifles performed flawlessly. Once they were being issued, McNamara and his whiz kids decided to buy the "cheap shit ball ammo" with the corrosive powder and send it to the war zone without testing it, because ammo's ammo, right?

Rather like the brilliant strategy of having every strike mission approved by the White House (on a 24 hour turnaround at best, because it was the '60s), but hey, Kennedy, McNamara and LBJ knew best, right?

Me? I quoted Shakespeare ('first kill all the lawyers'). 2. I told my brother 'if I told you I'd have to kill you..' 3. I posted that meme about the $150 gas pump guy who ran of w/o paying (promoting larceny, I guess). It's apparent, I'm a threat to global security.
Don't for a minute think I don't curate (somewhat carefully) what I get from here..
