Got an email this morning that CMP will stop sending me emails unless I comply with the requirements of a Califuckistani law.

It was good while it lasted.

I just wonder if that California law regarding DOB, address and email has anything to do with probable cause at traffic stops. Cop pulls you over, and your information matches what was submitted by the website. Is the assumption that you might have a pistol going to be probable cause to search you or your vehicle?

Unless you provide all the information necessary for CMP to comply with a Califuckistan law, they will not send emails to you any longer.

I am not, nor have I ever been subject to those laws and as such, I will not provide PII to the CMP just for email marketing.
All their shit got too high anyway
They used to be reasonably priced but now their prices are higher than those 2 fat guys with the nickle plated Colts at the gun show who have them in a glass case with no prices because if you have to ask, you can't afford it

So, their customers pushed back and they caved...is that about it?

Or, did some little leftist dweeb put out the 'new' requirements?

    Anyone know what really happened?

Probably none of the above. CCPA and other, soon to effective CA data privacy laws require impacted businesses to adjust some of how data of CA residents is treated.

Very little of those requirements have to do with what the original CMP email stated. I’m guessing somebody did not know what they were doing when that email was released into the wild.
