Ithink it was his most favorite meal.
I'd eat it once a week if I could. It's cheap to make, I like it, it's easy to make & it doesn't make a huge mess to clean up.

I have a roll of sausage I need to make biscuits & gravy with. It's a mess to make, seeing as I make my biscuits. It takes a lot of time and some planning. I just hate seeig the wife only eata little bit then throwing the rest to the dog. Then again the dog is more worthy then the trash can.

    There is no debate.
There is the right way and the wrong way. That's a fact.
Just because some leftist website adds beans doesn't mean that it's the truth.
For those who fail to understand basic Spanish: "chili con carne" means "chili peppers with meat". Those who read "beans" in that are just poor deluded individuals.

Same with sticking your wiener in dough. I don't care what you do behind your own closed doors but don't sell it to the public under the fake name of "kolach". The British have a name for your tiny wiener in dough: "pig in a blanket". So do not confuse it with a wedding pastry, please. And don't get me started on the proper spelling of said wedding pastries, especially their singular and plural. We'll be here all night. :)

Did some digging on that bolded subject. Kolachi are traditionally dough with cheese or fruit (or both) - while the meat-stuffed dough is traditionally referred to as "Klobasnek" - kolachi rolls off the tongue easier than klobasnek does, and doesn't sound as ethnic - so that's probably why all the pastry places call their pig in a blanket a kolachi and not the proper name of klobasnek. The donut places probably didn't wanna offend the cops either with the whole pig-in-a-blanket thing, but you could really have some fun with that...

Beat Cop = pig in a blanket with scrambled egg
Top Cop = pig in a blanket with extra cheese baked on top of the bun part
Chief's Special = pig in a blanket with sausage, bacon, and cheese
Sergeant Pepper = pig in a blanket with jalapeno slices or diced jalapeno added in
Mahoney = pig in a blanket with a bigger sausage
Tackleberry = pig in a blanket with bigger sausage and jalapenos
Danno = pig in a blanket with pineapple jam
CHiPs = two pigs in a blanket with a side of avacado and it costs extra because of Californication
Cordell Walker = pig in a blanket with a roundhouse kick to the face
Desk Sergeant = extra large pig in a blanket smothered in sausage gravy

    Have some fun with it.

Also forgot to elaborate on the "cheese or fruit". Not any cheese. Only cottage/farmers cheese. Sometimes with raisins.
Being a sweet wedding pastry, actual cheese in a kolach would taste a little ... awkward. :)

My favorite kind is the one with poppy seeds (boiled in milk). Just like the Moravian frgal which is nothing but a giant kolach the size of a pizza. LOL They took it to a whole new level! :)

I use to eat cold Wolf out of the can with slices of white bread.
