Are these similar to the old Black Talon ammo? They're only available through Bass Pro Shops. I'm tempted to buy a box to see how they perform.

For that price I would just order some Rangers instead

Just by looking at the close-up photo of the bullet, it doesn't seem to have the "talons" that Black Talons do.

I tried a box of them today.

.40 JHP 180 gr.

Functioned just fine in my S&W M&P.

Not sure what they are jacketed with, looks like lead.

Only punched paper, no expansion or penetration testing.
