Maybe those folks could get together with the ones doing captioning? Sometimes it's just fricking hilarious and sometimes it's annoyingly wrong!

The problems with captioning seem intractable. I can remember all the same issues on my Criterion laserdiscs and that was 30+ years ago. The funniest caption problems IMO are with bigger budget projects where the captions come from the script but the actual dialogue deviates considerably from that script.

There are also a bunch of hunting videos from the 80’s & 90’s that I’m enjoying now.

The reaction genre is certainly overcrowded. It's tough to monetize and the folks who produce good content are rare. I think we'll be stuck with a glut of those channels for the foreseeable future, though. The barriers to entry are low and it's easy to fake a reaction to something.

Like everything, the best of those channels actually provide good info and entertainment. The other 98% just muck up the place.

Some text to speech apps have gotten very good. They occasionally make themselves obvious by ridiculously mispronouncing a word in ways no human would. Always gives me a chuckle when that happens.

This becomes obvious if you watch a lot of aviation videos like I do. When the video is talking about, say, the F-104 Starfighter and the robo-narrator consistently and inaccurately keeps calling the the "F-One Hundred and Four" instead of "F-One Oh Four" or it wildly mispronounces something like the name of the USS Oriskany it gets obvous fast.

It often seems like Tik Tok stars have migrated to YT.

I'm not going to be super critical of channels focused on being entertaining, that's all subjective, but things like disassembly videos? Having to trudge through dozens of videos, and end up having to resort to footage from that world of guns dissassembly videogame? Thats awful
