Itchin for something and I keep looking at some AK rifles. I have a plain Jane WASR 10/63 and a Arsenal 107R. Have owned a couple Zastavas, but always traded them off. I'm looking for a tricked out AK and really like the looks of this PSA. Seems to have some pretty nice features for the price. FN barrel and Toolcarft trunnion and bolt.

What say thee patrons of TGT? Are PSA's up to par now? I've always lived off the "only buy imports" model of thought when it comes to AK'S. So who has or had a PSA made AK? What are your thoughts on them?

It sounds like a quality rifle but I'm not the guy to turn to on this one. My only bad triggers came in psa ar lowers but this is a different animal. I love tool craft so if they manufactured parts they did it right. I was ready to bite on the early gens back when they were $600 or so but my go to 7.62x39 is still the VZ 58.

I think you should buy one so I can live vicariously through you!

I have a gf3 AK-P with an alg trigger and it's put together straighter that my Saiga. Hits steel at 200yds with boring reliability. You're more than welcome to shoot it, if you head up this way. Going to the range Sunday.

I bought a Gen because the 4s were out of stock and the 5 (or what would later become the 5) didn’t exist yet. I’ve only dumped about 20 rounds through mine to function check but I read enough good things and let them work the bugs out before I bought. Still would like the 5 though, just low priority.

I just traded off a gf3 for some really nice stuff for an ar build. Mine was a great shooter and so much fun I put an alg trigger also on mine and a kreb safety. Swapped out the furniture for uktimak rail I’ll get another one soon enough.

If I was to buy a AK, I would get a base model from them. I already have a SKS I love.

Or I would get a yugo AK to match my yugo SKS.
Mmm... SKS. Definitely a favorite of mine. As for Yugo AK's. Most I've handled have been pretty nice outside of a NPAP underfolder a friend had bought. It had some issues. One of my only regrets was getting rid of Zastava M90NP. It was such a sweet shooter, but the magwell for AR mags was unsightly. Although it was very functional. I just couldn't bare to look at it anymore. I still really want one of the new M90s.

Get those imports while you stil can. Although in the case of the Zastava, I think they are making some of them in the US now?

They are still made in Serbia. Just shipped in a legal configuration and converted by Zastava USA into what they should be. Before they had Century doing the work which led to issues that Zastava was not happy with, so they opened their own import/conversion shop to make sure things are done correctly.

Stuff is coming in. Still waiting on PSA to make a move. I figure it'll be at least another week or so before it ships.

Be sure to check the status of your order yourself because I never received any notification of my order status from PSA. You just use the order number on their website for order status.

Not a big deal just a heads up in case you are expecting a email from them.

And here we go. Rant on. PSA ain't worth a shit. They sent the wrong rifle. Went to pick it up today and it's not what I ordered. The rifle I ordered does not have a top railed cover. I can't use my side mount with this turd of a rifle. The top hinged cover is loose out of the box and would never hold zero which is exactly why I didn't order one with it. The safety is floppier than a flaccid dick. It just falls down from safe to fire by gravity. The gas tube lever is also floppy. Hand guard not even bolted down and loose. I declined the rifle right there at the FFL. Now my FFL is saying they will send it back once i receive a shipping label which according to PSA will be mailed out next week. So now I have to wait several weeks to return a rifle that I didn't even order and spent a lot of money on and is not even in my possession. Never again will I buy anything from PSA. Trash company.
