The weather is polite in Canada. I've been sending Canadian friends photos of the layer of ice on everything here. They're horrified. Up there it snows, and might get slushy, and it's inconvenient. They don't get a quarter inch layer of ice on the road.

True dat. I Spent over 3 decades in eastern WA and lived through tons of snow and ice. Still, the worst road conditions I have ever done were in freezing rain on the TX/NM border one night.

Been there, done that. Horse trailers, full of horses in the ditch - bad experience.
