Hadn't even heard of the arrest.

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch was arrested and detained at Cancun Airport in Mexico in January after a handgun was discovered in his bag while boarding a private jet to return to the United States following a vacation with his wife Samantha. On Monday, he was sentenced to 3.5 years in a Mexican prison while also being fined $1,100.

Meh, they don't respect our laws, so I couldn't care less about someone breaking theirs. He shouldn't have gone to Mexico in the first place.
Bingo..go to shit hole country and you are at the mercy of those kinds of people
I had friends who would drive into Mexico to bass fish and had to bring bribe money for the corrupt police..screw that

He's rich and appears won't serve any time. Any of us serfs would be stuck in the clink.

"I forgot" is a ridiculous excuse.

I have a friend that live on the Pacific side of Baja.

AFAIK the tourista towns are still fairly safe as long as you stay in the major populated area. I would no longer rent a car to tour the countryside like I used to do. But fly in, fly out, should be no problem if you don't give the federales any sheet.
