Without religion we have no Constitution, no Free Speech and no 2nd Amendment. Sorry that's what the very foundations of this country were founded on. I don't know exactly what happened here but I see it alot in forums where certain things are banned, and some I agree with. I myself find foul language offensive and some of that goes on here. I think at times we need to stand back, take a breath and let free speech be what it is. We have the goverment taking away enough of our freedoms as it is.

Actually it had a lot to do with Muslim-bashing on the forum. It's not an attempt to keep Christians down. >_>

When I joined this forum, there was nary a topic that was taboo. After some new folks started to get heated on certain topics, the site went from having admins with little or no moderators, to having moderators around every corner to try and keep the threads civil.

The only answer was to focus on firearms (texas GUN talk), and prohibit the topics that drew the most bashing. Religion was a strong one. We have people of many religions on this board, even atheists who see religion and prayer as a hinderance to human progress. I don't agree, but I respect their views. The problem is, other folks don't.

I don't run this board, I'm just along for the ride. If I don't like where this car is going, I can get out at anytime. If I fart and stink the whole car up...well I guess Alan has the right to boot me out...

I must say from the title of this thread, I thought it was a review for a new apple product

Was wondering when you were going to say this. Cracks me up...

If I didn't have to lock 90% of threads relating to religion it wouldn't be a problem. It's a topic that people feel strongly about and it's extremely polarizing, so the argument isn't very dynamic.

Well I will say that the deal with that leftist judge is something that is pertainet. Free speech is violated, this clown says that the words "bow your head" "a moment of silence" "amen" and "prayer" are not allowed. Sadly that's what eats all of our rights, this is nothing about religion, it is however about our rights as Americans. Soon it will be like where I moved from last year. Where no one stood for the National Anthem in a school program. My wife and I both vets/different eras stood up and hands over our hearts(they'd of fainted if we saluted the flag) showed respect. Imagine in a crowd of 500 people only two standing, slowly about 1/3 finally stood up. Why? Because no one takes a stand on anything any more. No one wants to offend another and so on. It's similiar to the bill here in Texas where finally we are standing up because of the TSA assualting people. They have to have a reason to do it, heaven forbid we point out the guy in a turban and flowing robe but stop the woman with kids. Sorry folks it is time to stand up and should we silent on an issue because it might lead to some "religous talk", well I for one will take my stand when I see something that I and generations have fought for. No offense to anyone ment here just my feelings on the subject.

If and when I decide to leave this forum I've decided it would be more amusing and memorable to go out with the ban hammer yet the moderator will be laughing their heads off as it drops.

A childish fit isn't the way to go.

    Everyone should chill a little.

Arguing it on the internet isn't going to change the judge's decision.

Arguing on the internet isn't going to change the minds of C-ville peeps either. I'm from there and I know there's people willing to be arrested, probably half of the attendees.

Everyone's gonna do what they think is right regardless of the laws, and I guess we'll see how it all turns out on Saturday. All I gotta say is....

I think religion got banned because it involves of course thoughts and deeds and actions of the largest enemy of our United States and someone called a spade a spade and chapped somebody's rear who was part of that group who bellyached and bawled and caused this cessation on the entire subject.

I'd "druther talk about guns, if;n I had my druthers, more interesting and peaceful...sometimes...Lets move on to shooting irons, okay ?

The choice to remove religion was my own, and wasn't because of someone complaining about it. Religion just can't be discussed without someone stepping past the line with ultimatums and posturing. I will remove any topic that continuously resorts to this kind of result.

I even had a guy email me saying I should ignore the person that was crying about it and censor any dissenting opinion that was contra-religious. That is un-Christian, and un-American, but it's the reason why religion is no longer a topic of discussion at Texas Gun Talk.

We did have a thread requesting prayers for a kid, I have no problems with threads like that as they are almost always positive and beneficial to the thread starter.
