My Dell PC is just over 2 years old with a 1tb SSD PCIe 3.0 main drive and these things have a pretty good but not unlimited life. Is your system backed up? Data, operating system, clone of your c drive, other drives if you have them? I would really be in trouble if the system went down and we all know it will, but when? I use EaseUS Todo Backup and cloned my c drive today. Took less than 30 minutes externally. Costs about $110 for a drive and external case. Good insurance. Anyone else do this with a routine?

I have an 8TB external hard drive that has copies of all my data so if I lose the drive in my PC its no big deal. I will add that the external hard drive is only powered on when I need to add or access any data as it could be compromised if my PC gets hacked or gets a virus if it was always connected. Also no extra wear and tear on the hard drive as it is off 95% of the time.

8GB??? That would be like a 15 minute photoshoot for me. Might as well be a paper backup!

Always back up the data files frequently. Programs can be reinstalled.

Do you store all your backups at home? House fire would be bad.

Should always have a recent backup in the safe deposit box at the bank.

I do store at home. Critical data I keep on a usb drive on my keychain.

Always good to backup your stuff regularly, mainly personal files.
Even if it does crash, you can pick up a dock and just load your hard drive into it to transfer your data.

I haven't came across too many crashed drives that I was not able to recover data.

I backup my laptop and desktop once a week and rotate 4 different drives, keeping one of them at my work office in case of fire/flood/locusts/etc,

My desktop backs up automatically ever day.

I primarily use my computers for image processing. I start every job by loading originals to an external drive.
I do my initial image processing prior to uploading to my web site and save them to a second external drive and then upload downsized copies to the internet, so I think I have things pretty will covered.
