The majority of AR "pistols" came with standard milspec carbine tubes.

I saw my first brace equipped AR back in 2012. At the time I recognized it was just a run around the NFA. I figured it would be slapped down fairly quickly.

Five years later and they were still going strong, so I started building/buying. But I figured that sooner or later the "Man" was going to wake up and figure out the scam. The whole large format pistol market pretty much existed because you could attach a brace to them and not deal with the NFA stuff. Those of us who are older know that AR pistols had been around for years but were a very niche market and most people just ignored them. Then the braces started showing up and people jumped on the large format pistols because with the brace you could avoid all that NFA nonsense. Those large format pistols are just plain fun to shoot. A Ruger 10/22 Charger with a brace or a Ruger PC Charger with a brace will bring a smile to your face in a heartbeat. 9mm AR "pistols" suddenly became quite popular, why not, they're a real hoot to shoot.

Well, the "Man" figured it out. They at least gave us more than 120 days to come into compliance, offered free registrations with no engravings AND allowed us to keep the guns with the braces on them till approval. Any normal adult had to know that this was coming.

It could have been much worse.

The sad thing is that there ae millions of unsuspecting gun owners out there that have no idea that come June 1 their range toy is a felony.

    Yes..they are such kind tyrants.

I'm saying it, and have in the past - Having a Brace in the first place makes one a cuck.

Buying any of these gimmicks (Brace, Bump Stock, Bullet Button, etc) to "get around" a law? Turn in your man card. Either get an SBR or be an outlaw.

Bend the knee and pay them man.
    Be an outlaw.
    Or
Door number 3, don't bend the knee pay the man and tell him to phuck off at the same time as not going to prison.

    Hmmm

Lol, don't stop at SBR. Find an m16 cut lower and a drilling jig and get to work.
A note to the feds: The above is sarcasm.

    It's clearly sarcasm.

Technically, it violates TGT rules by advocating illegal activity...BUT...it's a joke. That's why you can see it.

Now go away and bother some real criminals for a change, OK?

    **** it. Go total man.

    Put a stock on it
    Drill the third hole
    Drop in an autoseasr
Put your homemade suppressor on it.
Walk into the local ATF office with it and yell FREEDOM

Just make sure someone is recording it so we know how it works out.

Here’s the problem I have with FAQs. They don’t align well what was written in the code.

There’s an annotation in the CFR that states rifle is further defined as

Everyone focuses on the word brace, but the code uses the oxford comma, so that means a rifle is a weapon equipped with
    An accessory OR
    A component OR
    A rearward attachment.

I’m pretty sure that any buffer tube, by any common understanding, is a component. I’m also pretty sure the buffer tube provides surface area that allows the weapon to he fired from the shoulder.

    That means sub-para 2 applies.

In sub-para 2, the word shall means ATF is required to consider the six factors of which only one is

That still leaves five other criteria in considerations and the big one here is:

Given that something around an inch or a less than 16% of difference exists across the lengths of most buffer tubes, although the spread across all is about 5”, so LOP may vary by as much as 2.5”. I wonder if ATF is down to subjectively splitting hairs because I can make an AR with a a 3.5” tube or an 8.5” buffer tube and 4” bbl. Is one subjectively an SBR and the other isn’t?

That’s important because the courts usually don’t allow that much subjectivity.

Given the Northern District of Texas just ruled in favor of expanding the frame/receiver rule injunction to give P80 relief, it’s going to be interesting once the brace rule is heard.

Yeah, what the rule says, and what the ATF is saying the rule says seem to be two different things, and that's probably going to matter down the line unless the courts strike down the rule.

Let's just say, what I wanted to write would have given me a permanent ban.
    Same here
I have him blocked and have for awhile the only reason I read that was I uncovered it in the post he was quoted in because I was interested in what he was referring to.
When I uncovered the post and read it and saw who wrote it, I remembered why I have him blocked

In the face of tyranny, when the scope of law becomes so vast and intrusive as to become a burden, the law ceasing to be a blessing of reasonable governance, mustn't all real men become outlaws?

Has it not always been so?

Oh Look! A group therapy session for folks who got their feelings hurt over the inference of what a cuck is. Feeling better now? Need a group hug? Self-fulfilling prophecy right here, but hey if the shoe fits...

Really liked the virtue signaling of how you would have written some tough, but were too skeered to get banned. See the irony eh?

Favorite though has to go to those who block me but still find a way to read my posts and comment on them! I know there are more of you out there.

And it was nice of Alyssa Milano to show up!
