50 years ago, just as many, if not more guns available, no school shootings.

    What's changed?

Quality of parent(ing) and toxicity of social media - correlation/causation?

Participation trophies, expectation of success just for showing up, and the harsh reality of real life requiring work and perserverence. Celebration of the victim mentality. For the past few decades society has been coddling children instead of preparing them for life. This result is inevitable from that environment.

Actually the prevalence of school shootings coincides with the rise of the use of SSRIs by the psychopharmacology industry. Almost every shooter was on SSRIs at one time or another.

Messing with a person's brain chemistry, especially before they are 25 years old is a really bad idea.

Just saw the vid posted. Me, not zog that said door was unlocked, per an early report I heard. Early reports are often in error. Obviously a pervert trying to show how bad-ass it is. Probably expecting to not survive anyway. Map of building? She/he went to school there, no real need for a map, just more bad-assing.

Benzodiazepines are another. Been dealing with my mother in law (82) since Christmas. She has basically mentally shut down.

Possibly but Id put money down that there is no father in their life
Starting around 30 years ago I was often asked by the single mothers in our circle of friends about the problems they were having with their sons, especially of high school age, since it always got worse with the male kids age.

Standard response was to get them into the military as soon as possible, no exceptions.

    In every case it worked.

Sadly, it is doubtful that I would make that recommendation today.

    What's changed?

The absolute whole of society has changed in 50 years. It isn't just parenting or social media.

50 years ago, nobody openly talked about the recurring and continued abuse by priests on children, but now we are, right? Turns out, not just a Catholic thing.

50 years ago, half the country had not legalized marijuana.

50 years ago, cops were not scrutinized nearly as critically as they are today (and they still keep doing stupid stuff on video documented by their own cameras).

We could make a very long list of things that have changed. A better question might be to ask what hasn't changed.

Actually, the shooter notified a friend just before the shooting that something was going to happen, that it would be suicide, and that the friend would probably see it on the news. The friend, after consulting a parent, called 911, was then directed to call the non-emergency number, was on hold for a while, and was still on the phone when the shooting happened. An officer was sent out to interview the friend, a 3:30 in the afternoon, long after the call would have been helpful.

The shooter had been a student, did have maps of the building, had a manifesto of sorts, and had planned this out for some time.

The shooter, shot through the side doors to gain entry. They have that on video. Locked or unlocked, the shooter made entry through the glass.

Rise in boys being raised by girls. Or, drop in the number of fathers/father figures raising boys.

There’s some real uncomfortable truths people have to come to on this.

I just received this email from a friend that lives in Nashville....

Rant coming. Because I’m biting my tongue on social media.

School shooting in TN by a trans person. The media doesn’t know what to do

with this. So they apologize for mislabeling the gender of the shooter. That’s the priority they chose. ‍♀️

The left: don’t blame all lgbt people for what one person did.

Also the left: ban all guns.

The trans community has been verbally calling for violence because they don’t like that they can’t use the bathroom of their choice or promote drag shows to children. Then the shooting happens. Now, they’re the victims. “We’re under attack. Protect the trans!” That’s the social media focus today after little kids were shot up in a school.

This is the messed up, narcissistic, always the victim mentality of the lgbt community.

And our daughter is getting wrapped up into viewing her own life through this lens. It’s deception. And woke people are feeding the lies and deception.

You need to protect your daughter the same way you would if you saw she was getting mixed up in a cult. Because that's what it is. Look into what people to to combat cult influence and very carefully begin applying those techniques.
