I always wondered what that white stuff on the front of the barrel.
Glad I wiped it off with a rag and not my hand.
Oh! There was no bulge in the center of the barrel either.

The one I tried out shot really well, and I shot well with it. But it didn't feel good in my hand. Something is "off" in the ergonomics of the grip for me.

i almost bought a glockin 40 years ago but ended up buying a sa xdm40 instead!

I've actually never shot a pistol that didn't feel pretty comfy in my hand except for that Glock. I love my Sig SP2022 and my Ruger SR9 (both of which have polymer frames), and have enjoyed just about every other 9mm pistol I've had a chance to fire (and have identified a deep-seated need for a HiPower).

I haven't shot an M&P yet, or entered the GRIP ZONE with an XD, but I'd be open to trying either of 'em.

Hell, I even enjoyed shooting a Makarov when I had the chance.

I've only ever gotten to shoot a clone of the SAA. Different feel to be sure, but I kind'a like the old fashioned grip style.
