Anyone know a good way to get rid of rust on a gun? This was given to me and I figure I should clean it up. Gun is a High Standard Model HB. Shoots fine. Any assist is appreciated

    Fixed it. Rust not rush

A good soak in ATF....a week or two. (time is your friend)

ATF wetted ALL COPPER CHORE BOY & a couple ALL COPPER PENNIES... some gentle rubbing and it will be as good as it gets.

No steel wool...emphasis on GENTLE RUBBING with either the ALL COPPER CHORE BOY & ALL COPPER PENNIES in the corners...

Use plenty of ATF (can cut it with fuel...if you need it thinner)...

Last all copper penny was in 1837, then it was a 95% copper until 1982. But copper wire is 99% copper and that should work?
Yes...but it is not as "stiff" as a penny...

The penny has a "lip" on the faces....can "drag" scale off...

Don't rush..you will be surprised at how easy it is..the more you soak..(and wiping down with an ATF patch counts)...the better it is..
