Mornin. Had a good day yesterday. A 13 year old girl and her family were hanging around the airport. I went a chatted with them. They were trying to figure out when the next Young Eagles rally was taking place. Explained to them they were in luck. I’m a YE pilot and had a few extra forms with me. Took her up and we did a nice loop around southern San Antonio. Landed and taxied back. She said I just got to sit here for a minute and take in all what just happened.

Another kid that will never have money for drugs because she’s gonna spend it all learning to fly!

Ha! As much work as that takes, I'd have to sell it as "premium, hand-split traditional" firewood...$300 a stack!

Besides, the wood pile is surrounded by ankle-deep mud right now...sigh...

Hoping to get out to the shop today and get some practice in on the new grinder before I trust it with beveling Glenbo's new knife. Assuming I can get that last bit of promised work for the day job out of the way quickly. Then again, here I am wasting time around here, so...

Market it as bbq-grade oak/mesquite/pecan/whatever (except juniper…that’s gin-grade botanical) and sell it for $5/lb.

Well, we've burned most of the mesquite, and I've got a ridiculously large pile of ridiculously large oak pieces...but it's mine, all mine. Gonna keep us warm for the next few winters.
