I did not even think about until you mentioned it, but I was at the local HEB yesterday and the shelves did look rather bare.

I went grocery shopping tonight. Wondered why the hell the store was so much more crowded than usual...then I realized. These people are panic buying for a four minute astronomical event.

We did our usual Whole Foods brunch buffet and grocery shopping today, me fully expecting a madhouse and I wasn't disappointed. At least we had room to sit and eat. The packed parking lot at 11 am was first hint. That never happens unless the Cowboys have an early kickoff. The checkers all said it was crazier yesterday (Saturday). 4 minutes as you say, General.

I am sitting at my desk at work just like any day.

I hope all you enjoy looking at cloud cover and showers.

But I am sure it will get dark for 30 minutes or so.

Enjoy the view.

HEB in burnet was picked over but nothing was wiped out I went 2x last week.

The parking lot had multiple out of state caravans parked in the back part of the lot. Looked like groups of 20-30 people several with long pink and blue hair and not old lady blue

If you look outside right now for 4 minutes, you can basically achieve the same effect as the eclipse later on, freeing up your afternoon for nappin'.

Best of luck to all of you hoping to catch a glimpse of the eclipse today. Looks like it will be very hit or miss based on cloud cover.

I’m hoping to get some nice pictures. If not, I guess I’ll just have to look at everyone else. Remember, it will ruin your phones camera pointing it at the sun at any time other than totality without some kind of protective filter in place.

I am not at all surprised. The general publicl can turn almost any event into a certified shit show.

The highway near me is under construction and has multiple wrecks each day. I can only imagine the idiots driving in heavy traffic trying to either look up at the eclipse, take a picture while driving or stopping on the limited shoulder to take a selfie.

Same here. Totaly clouded over.
At least I was not one of the idiots that reserved $400 a night rooms in the hill country to maybe see the elcipse.
